Pixar Star Wars

I can't really explain why but I'm not really that excited about this news. I'm not a big fan of animating Star Wars. If they steered clear of any real plots It might work for me, maybe the life of a droid or something.

I thought that the Clone Wars both the initial short animated series, and what became of the more recent ones were good.
If I were to imagine Pixar doing something Star Wars, I'd have to imagine they'd choose something off to the side of the "main" storyline to dig into. Something not in the Han/Luke/Leia storyline, but something off on an obscure planet or character.
At least that is what I hope they would do.

Maybe they'll re-cast Chewbacca as Dug or vice-versa. "I am a Wookie and I love you." "I do not like it when Han Solo puts me in the cone of shame"

From what I understand, Latino Review is actually all that credible a source. They've made several claims about the Marvel movies that have actually failed to pan out, for instance.

It's probably as credible as other sources. If I remember right, they've got some big things right in the past, and some big things wrong as well. I think it's like any rumor out there, taken with the proverbial grain of salt until something is officially announced.

I'd rather Pixar go back to work on original projects, but maybe I'm in the minority. I'm all tired out of their recent sequels, prequels and sidequels. The only good thing about Pixar failing recently is the consensus claiming Disney has taken back the throne.

Pixar would be perfect for a Yoda origin story.
I really hope Disney leaves the whole Yoda origin alone. For me, part of the awesomeness of Yoda is the mystery behind him. I just don't think anything they do would live up to the expectations and in the end it would diminish the character. I don't mind the idea of Pixar making a star wars movie, I would just rather them do something original with it. Something not part of the characters and stories that have already been done.

Why Disney threw away The Clone Wars team is still a mystery to me. The animation on that show was on par with Pixar or even better especially season 4 and 5 IMO and if Disney ever gets around to releasing the remaining Clone Wars episodes there is one centered on Yoda.

Why did they cancel Spectacular Spider-Man and Avengers: EMH to make way for Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble? It's a thing that happens. Disney appears to like working with clean slates.

They didn't really, most of the creative team is working on Rebels and the animation on rebels is still being done by Lucasfilm Animation. I think the switch from Clone Wars to Rebels was simply a way of getting the show away from Cartoon network.
