I’m surprised they aren’t going 1 week longer so they have more going on for D23 crowd coming into town.

Pixar fest shutting down, no space mountain, no Disneyland railroad, no parade in DCA.

They are continuing to have Pixar fireworks and Magic Happens until Halloween

They seem to always cut entertainment before D23, last time they cut MSEP right before D23

It's so old now, and looks so dated, that it's about to become retro vintage cool.

If it can just hang on a few more years, we might even be able to get it onto the National Register of Historical Places.

And to reference the Haunted Mansion thread and its messy patio umbrella entrance, I'm so glad they plopped another giant patio umbrella right next to the order window inside the shaded niche.

Because... you just need more random patio umbrellas in your way.

Also, the random stanchions/rope line around the Club Pixar signage is equally baffling. What the heck is the purpose of the stanchions, aside from just cluttering up and ruining the aesthetics? Is there no one in charge of these parks any more who knows how to make things look good? Or do they just throw this crap around just to make it look like they are somehow "managing" this, when all they are really doing is cluttering and making things messy in a very lazy way.

Can someone please give Marie Kondo the phone number to TDA? They're in desperate need.

The stanchions are needed for the big crowds that show up every night for the Club Pixar dance party!
Oh wait. 😄

Welp.... it's over. Pixar Fest has now been placed the Yesterland archives.

Something tells me it's going to be quite a while before TDA tries that again. 🧐

I'm not so sure. While Pixar Fest seemed to work like gangbusters the first time around, it seemingly did nothing to draw people to the parks this summer.
Did it really? I don't remember it really moving the needle too much the first time around either.

Besides TDA keeps around events that don't really move the needle, for example the food events at DCA who's draw has waned over the years.

It was a pretty laughable event from the first go around too. Maybe not quite as bad as Mickey's 90th or "Summer of Heroes" as it did add a firework show, but nothing great.

What a weird idea that it ran so many months too. Season of the Force was a month this year and it also overlapped with Pixar Fest? Disney needs to make up their mind.

I think their hope is that the overlapping events will draw in enough guests continually, from either the single day or key crowds, that it keeps attendance up. And to me there is nothing wrong with that, stack in the events I say, it keeps things interesting.

The Pixar Fest lost its luster after maybe a month. It's not sustainable to have an event as boring as it go for so long.

Family's aren't flying out to try the Inside Out Bao Buns with red food coloring.

Families from other states might not, but locals around the state might. Remember that DLR has a huge locals population from not only SoCal but from all of California (and even local surrounding states). That is what these events are for really, the locals that come back over and over and over again to give them something different to experience regularly.

Did we ever figure out why Pixar Fest was cancelled early? Did it no generate enough guests and merch sales?
Was it actually cancelled early?

I won't deny that there's some oddness (like the fireworks going longer than the event itself), but as far as I know, other than one or two minor entertainment changes, everything went on as (and as long as) intended.

From this thread, it looks like it got widdled down. Not everything made it to end.
