MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

At first I was concerned about how, if the 14 acres are for both Villains Land and Piston Peak together, Villains Land will be much smaller than Galaxy’s Edge (or even Cars Land or Pandora).

But then I thought… the original Hogsmeade was only like 6 acres or so (depending on how you count it, and not counting Dragon Challenge), and it was still phenomenally compelling…

Edit: Obviously this still contradicts the “incredibly twisted grand scale that only Disney can deliver” type claims.

As a civil engineer, nothing is more entertaining/infuriating than to see people who clearly don't know what they're talking about armchair QB basic engineering and construction issues..
I’m still trying to read through 25 pages of nonsense, but this right here.

If you’ve ever worked on a large project with significant civil infrastructure, you know that “mobilization and prep” work can take up months before you even begin the actual project. Clearing, grading, drainage and erosion control, pump arounds… on a site this size in an active park?

Come on.

I imagine that Floridian way will be quite busy during the hours when MK is closed. There will be quite a few thousand trips to fill in the hole @ 10-14 cubic yards per load. Perhaps they'll set up a conveyor system like they did for Starwars land (yes I went there) so they can keep advancing the project around the clock.

I would imagine land clearing on a 14 acre parcel will take around 3 to 4 weeks. Then grubbing, rough grading, and survey and stakeout another 3 or 4.

THEN the work can begin.

Question for anyone that has been to MK recently: do the construction walls make Frontierland feel smaller, or more boxed in? The part of Frontierland that isn't ROA/TSI has basically always been buildings alongside a pathway, albeit a fairly wide pathway, but with ROA and TSI, it felt like more of a wide open area. Now, you have buildings on one edge of the FL path, and construction walls on the other side.

For me, not really. Frontierland always felt like a walkway to Big Thunder and Splash/Tiana so that hasn’t changed.

I was there with the partial walls up and will be there again on next Tuesday. It’s different of course but not crazy differnt enough for me to really care about it compared to what we’re getting there soooi

Now that The Great Wall of Frontireland is complete, I'm curious just how long it is (how many feet end-to-end from HM Q to BTM)? I'm also guessing that construction will be well underway by the time BTM reopens? And I can't remember where I read it but supposedly some TSI props are being repurposed for BTM?

I only felt claustrophobic in the HM queue.

It’s because departments apparently don’t talk to each other. They just redid the seats for Muppetvision and added projection mapping effects.
Not only would these seats certainly be used for the next show but I would just like to point out if things are not fixed/in good shape even when an attraction is on its way out, people complain relentlessly so having Muppets leave on a fairly strong note imo is great!

Like others have said, you notice it in the HM queue, but in Frontierland it doesn't detract at all.
