I was at the MK yesterday and the park was crowded, most of the rides had 30 or more minute waits. Splash Mountain was at 45 minutes and Peter Pan had 70 minutes. I do not ride POTC that often but had to kill time waiting for my SM fastpass. The sign said 5 minute wait for POTC, I ask the CM because I could not beleive it, she told me 5 - 10 minutes, the wait was less then 5 minutes. I always thought this was one of the more popular rides. I was wondering why this line was so short, it was around 1 pm when I went to POTC.

POTC was always one of the highest-capacity, fastest-loading rides. It was designed that way. I've often been able to walk right through the elaborate queue right onto a boat. A normal occurrance, considering you often do not ride POTC.

Yeah....even during the MVMCP it was "walk right on!"

I thought there might be a wait with all those kids and only a few attractions open over there, but the boat was waiting for us when we got to the dock!

Yet... there were times a while back when there was ALWAYS along wait to get on it. One can only speculate.....

YO HO YO HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

The Pirates line ALWAYS moves fast or is walk on. It's because the number of boats, how many guests they hold and how fast they load. That's how I came to ride it 10 times in a row on my last trip to WDW while waiting for my fast pass time for Splash Mountain.

And why don't you ride it often?!!! You need to ride PotC EVERYTIME you're in the Magic Kingdom! :p :)

True, but if only WDW's version was as long as Disneylands!! That always upset me that our version is a dubbed down one.

I been to the MK 3 times in the last week and do not walk through adventureland that much. I usually walk to tomorrowland or catch the train to frontierland but if the lines are going to be that short I will ride it a lot more from now on.

Quick line to get, but how long was the wait to get off the ride??? I can't count how many times it's been backed up through the dungeon scene with those guys whistling for the dog. I can hear it now....

Yep, POTC is a definate MUST everytime i come down to WDW. I think the reason for the no wait-short wait is due to each boat holds 15-20 people(i think) which is much larger than any other ride in MK, so yep.. it moves people faster... Imagine if Splash Mountain had boats this large.. lines would be MUCH shorter.. But here's my question.. do the effects seem toned down a tad in the past couple years?? Especially in the area where the 2 ships are fighting.. Gimme some thoughts here..

No not at all...

They actually upgraded the effects in the battle scene. The cannons now shoot small streams of water and air to add to the effect. The splashes are also more constant. They do keep them farther away from the boat I think though. I remember how you used to be able to get wet on pirates at that part...now I think they stopped shooting the water up near the boats.
