So after riding it today I couldn't help but notice that the hologram of Blackbeard wasn't on and the projections of the mermaids in the water weren't working as well. Do you all sense that disney may be getting rid of that part?

Exactly, say what you want about that franchise and its hit and miss sequels.... Davy Jones was an awesome villain; I have no issue with him being in the ride. The fourth movie's Blackbeard however - not that great.
Only if the Blackbeard was mashed up with his character from Deadwood. But alas, poor little Jimmie and Joni would be scarred for life.

Very seldom do the projection and the mermaid effects operate effectively.

In other news, POTC has been in shambles for the longest time now.

The bateau's are constantly soaking people in the front rows, there's some major show lighting issues, and of course the cloud projections have been off for almost a decade.

when i rode last week, the mist and projection were not working but the mermaid projection in the water was working. this is the first time i have seen it without the mist and projection. it needs something there as it is almost 30 seconds of just nothing which at the start of a ride seems like forever.

And for some reason, I don't really see disney doing anything about it until the next Pirates movies comes out.

I can't stand the new boats (they are so cheap looking, can't even fill the back row) and so many things not working.
I hate the new boats too!! Two weekends ago they forced two other people in the row with us. Love's not a small man; he's about 6ft/250lb plus I had some shopping bags and my camera backpack already which take up space. Well, they loaded two other pretty good sized people in with us and I got completely crushed against the edge of the boat as a result. Well, we go down the drop and SPLASH!! it turns into Pirates of the Kali River Rapids and I get completely drenched. My hoodie was soeak and my jeans were completely saturated. Even my underwear was soaking wet. It was 60F outside and 9pm so there was no chance they were going to dry anytime soon. Thankfully, a manager at Emporium let me pick a pair of sweatpants to change into for free. We hung out for another couple hours, then drove home so about 4 hours after all this happened, my jeans were STILL soaked when I took them out of the shopping bag. Absurd!! I'm not going to ride it if they force so many people in a row again. It's not worth getting drenched over!
