I agree with what everyone else has said, about having to keep your arms and legs inside the boat at all times. Yes, folks, there's a reason! Also, I just want to point out the two big typos that bug me in this article:
  • "Mission to Mars thrill ride"
  • "Astro Orbiter ride at Epcot"
Sorry, I just felt like I had to say that :cat:

It bothers me so bad to watch kids put their fingers in the water on water rides..I just keep waiting for them to get their fingers crushed. There is always one who does it. What's worse is the parents or adults who do it. Set bad examples for kids. Really common sense should kick in and tell ya the risk involved by not following the directions.

And when you consider the sheer volume of visitors the parks get, the number of major incidents is surprisingly low.
I was just saying this to my wife today. There are SO MANY people throughout the year that I am actually surprised there are not more issues......but I am glad there are not.

Heck, I remember being amazed at the stories of how they got the parks clear with no incident on 9/11. Four full parks evacuated in under an hour?

Exactly. That is something that is easily overlooked, however that is a TON of people with no incident in LESS THAN 1 hour. Pretty amazing.
