Unless I'm mistaken, I think this concept art of the entrance is showing the side where the tower is (the people in the drawing would make a left immediately after going under the arches to enter the que). Thus the parrot would be around the corner in the drawing and not affected by the sail. Right? :veryconfu
You are correct.

I think it looks great!!!! I am looking forward to all the changes. I only have 2 questions.....

1. How long till they have to pull down the sail due to winds???

2. Is it just me or does Barbossa look like he has "a little Capt. in him?"

If that's the case..... why isn't the tower in the concept art??

PS: Here's an up close view of the side of the building that Aaka was talking about. That little green blob of land to the right of the arches is where the sail will go- im guessing.
Here's the link> http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=28.42088~-81.579837&style=o&lvl=1&scene=3928862

Edit: it won't show PotC immediately but make your way over there and take a birds eye view facing West and you should see it.

I believe it was on Micechat where it was said that the parrot would not be coming back (but instead be replaced by a skull-type thing)....not sure if it's true. Although the new concept art looks fine, I really would miss seeing the parrot outside greeting guests coming into the attraction!

Now that (skull) would blow. I like the looks of the sails, but I don't think I'd care for a skull right out front. There are enough inside already. ;) Still, I'm willing to wait and give it a chance.

I hope the new entrance isn't too gaudy for the surrounding Caribbean Plaza area, because I always liked the refined look of that area.

As for the ride, I'm kind of excited. But who knows until we see it.

The only complaint that I have is that the concept art is too small! I'm all about plussing 30+yr old attractions to modernize them. The new entrance looks awesome and was totally unexpected. I suppose this explains the exterior painting work we've been seeing.

I gotta admit that I like it. I like it a lot.

And yes, it appears that the entrance art is taken from the side, and not the front. On the right side of the image, you can see the covered area that goes over the main walkway.

This will put a tropical, lush, jungle-like look towards the Jungle Cruise and the rest of Adventureland, while preserving the Spanish-style entrance that faces the main street.

The more I look at it, the more it's growing on me. It looks like Disney is keeping their positive momentum after The Land and EE rolling along. And God knows the MK could use it. Hopefully this is just the beginning.

Maybe I the only one that doesn't like it. The sign is huge looking and over the top and will distract from the theme of the area. I imagine with it being some type of canvas it will soon look faded and worn in the florida sun/rain/storms. If the sign is too big will it not block light out of the open arches into the gift shop?

I love the new sign. It looks very similar, although probably not as big, to the one in DLP. With the new darker paint being applied to the exterior of fortress in some areas at our version, I imagine the look of the exterior might be going to something more similar to that in DLP as well. Some pics of Paris's version from dlpinfo.com and clubjosh.com:

Is there any chance they'll move the captain of the Wicked Wench over to the other side in that scene? That's really the most recognizable character from the attraction, IMO and it would be a shame to completely lose that character.
