Pirates of the Caribbean Auctioneer/Redhead Changes NO POLITICS or SOCIAL ISSUES, PLEASE!

Although I haven't liked any of the changes they've made at PotC with Jack Sparrow, etc., and in general don't like most of the changes recently (GotG at Epcot, etc.), I have to admit that I'm a little relieved that they're changing this scene. It's awkward taking your daughter on the ride and explaining, well, the other women aren't attractive enough to be sold as sexual slaves, but that one is attractive, so she would be the best sex slave! For a little girl, it's just weird, particularly weird because the ride is all in good fun--haha, look at those crazy pirates, etc.

To me, this change is far less offensive than the crass commercialism in the other changes. But I certainly do hope they do a good job of it!

I recently went to Disneyland Paris and the scene wasn't that bad to be honest. It was a change, but didn't ruin the ride. I don't speak French very well, but I think they might even still say "we wants the redhead" during the auction - indicating they don't want the goods being peddled. They definitely still have the gun shot that makes them all shut up when they get rowdy.

With everyone thing going on with Disney it's kind of easy to forget about this change. Still needless and stupid.

Any idea on the time frame for this? I assume it's replacing the January-February Splash Mountain refurb?

More then likely, I don’t see why they would refurb splash now then in January do it again. I mean yes it’s cold but you don’t have to shut it down. Especially because of Kali proving that wrong
