Pirates influence

Jungle Cruise in WDW is better than Pirates in WDW, anyway.
I would agree...but only slightly.

What the JC was meant to do...role wise is now occupied by an entire theme park that is much better at it. Sorry fake animals that looks like there from the 70s "laugh" don't thrill me. This whole cant change it because of my childhood crap needs to end. And I'm not ranting I enjoy classics but I enjoy a better replacement more. Things change it's life get over it. I mean that's like having an argument over the intersection in your town that got a new light. I would rather my son enjoy a better ride and when he is 24 it can be his classic.
On a side note it takes up a huge swath of space.
You can cry all day about how all the real animals in animal kingdom and lack of attraction make it a mediocre park but
A few fake ones in the magic kingdom is holy?

There are about 5-6 "Protected Classics" on property which should never be removed. Jungle Cruise is one of them.

I think Jungle Cruise is a relic, not a classic. It's cheesy beyond belief. I felt embarrassed when I rode it - embarrassed for the park. I think Walt would have ripped it out long ago and replaced it with something new and better. I get that some people like it for some reason. But, speaking plainly, the ride DOESN'T make you think you're in Africa or wherever, the only AA that now looks remotely convincing is the elephant squirting water out of its trunk, and the JC captains have to make fun of the ride in order for the ride to be any fun at all. So IMO it's time for it to go. Or give it a massive massive refurb. One or the other. Just do it.
I'm also in favor of Tom Sawyer Island getting a Pirates makeover. Yes, yes, I know. Look, I remember reading about a ride in a Six Flags park called Injun Joe's Cave. I think the park was in Missouri (Mark Twain's birthplace), so that's why the ride existed. It was all about the part of the "Tom Sawyer" book where Tom and Becky Thatcher get lost in a cave with the evil Injun Joe chasing them. The ride was certainly based on a classic story, and it certainly reflected a piece of Missouri history.
But you know what? That ride no longer exists. It's been made over multiple times. It even got taken over by Scooby Doo. Sad as it is, the Twain books are no longer mainstream, and in some ways they haven't aged well. So maybe it's time to rethink Tom Sawyer island. Give it a makeover that will stand the test of time. JMHO.

I know its basically never going to happen for a whole multitude of reasons but I have always wished that they would make our version of pirates longer and better by expanding the show building and making a whole new section for the ride, which once again I know will never happen Its just thoughtful thinking.

Jungle is very near and dear to my heart. I don't think it's one of those things that would have been "ripped out" by Walt. Walt in his time did very little "ripping,' but he did a heck of a lot of plussing. I think that's what the Jungle Cruise needs is some real plussing, in paint and animatronic, as well as training and hiring of the Cast.
A Jungle Skipper can make or break your Jungle Cruise expereince and there are quite a few excellent Skippers out there. However, there are always the few who you can tell obviously don't want to be there and have very little comedic timing.
I for one am a huge fan of that 1930's adventure theme and love the way it's brought to life in the Jungle. If anything were to take its place I'd only want it to be something simillarly themed like Indiana Jones or even Mystic Manor from Hong Kong.
Adventureland needs to have a diversity of exotic "flavors" of attractions, instead of an oversaturation of Caribbean Jerk Sparrow. I actually find the first three movies pretty entertaining, but do not want an entire land based upon the one franchise.
I'd also hate for Pirates to find its way over to Tom Sawyer Island. It works at Disneyland because Pirates is just across from the Island in New Orleans Square.

Stuff like that actually seems cool. I'm down for POTC events, but an entire area ala New Fantasyland/Harry Potter. Meh. I love the franchise, I think an area based off it would be cool, just not at the MK and to be honest I feel like the ship has sailed. Pun intended..I guess.

I don't regard JC as sacrosanct, it's not my favorite ride (though I wouldn't skip it during a visit).
That said, I think re: all of the MK original attractions, there has to be a VERY good reason to replace it. I still don't agree with replacing MTWR for that very reason. The decision to bin 20K leagues is fine with me, because it was underwhelming and took up large swaths of real estate.
Unless someone brings forth a proposal that would make better use of the JC area AND keep in theme of Adventureland, I hope it stays.

Please don't. They did that in Disneyland and it is pretty bad, what can you really say about a lot of fake treasure epoxied to a rock with gold paint on everything... pretty lame... I can't imagine they would do it any better at DW

South Park parodied it with "Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride".
Jurassic Park had a nod to it with a background commercial advertising the "Jungle River Cruise" during the dinner scene....
which was then built as the real Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal.
So don't worry, fellow JC fans....it's become such a major pop culture icon that DisneyCo isn't about to get rid of it anytime soon.
