Film Crew in Niagara Falls Shoot For Pirates of the Caribbean


NIAGARA FALLS -- Like a pirate in the night, a film crew for the third "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie sneaked in and out of Niagara Falls this week.

But sadly, Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom weren't on location.

The filming was all hush-hush, but Buffalo Niagara film commissioner Tim Clark confirmed the footage was for "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End."

Walt Disney Studios shot footage of the Horseshoe Falls so they can superimpose the stars in later.

In fact, after the FX people get finished, moviegoers may not even recognize the falls.

Niagara Falls is about 5 minutes from my house and we never heard a word about it.

Very cool! Sound like just sent the "2nd Unit" out... but still very cool!

I run into "2nd Units" here in Chi all the time... mostly by accident :lol:
I snoop around set... and ask a gaffer what they are shooting... and they'll tell you the fake working title. And then I go home and google it... and find out is a HUGE movie.... like "Batman Begins" or one of the "Spiderman" movies. :lol:
