Pinocchio Village Haus 2nd Floor Balcony Gone?

There have been tarps and a wall around the outside staircase that leads up to the 2nd floor balcony at the Pinocchio Village Haus. Inside the restaurant access has been cut out to the upstairs seating, too.

Is this the end of the lovely hidden gem of the Vilage Haus?

I saw a permit was filed for there on the permit thread and I heard it was getting a refurb but no idea...

I wish they said more than "MK-Fantasyland Expansion-Metal Canopy" in the description. The canopy can be anywhere. But thanks anyway!

I am just guessing here, but most metal canopies are to shelter outside structures. (The structure over the tea cups is a metal canopy, for example). And I am guessing they are installing a metal canopy to provide some rain protection for outside seating. This might involve drilling holes through the support struts from the outside to the second floor to attach the canopy, so the second is closed, but will reopen later, visibly unchanged.

Or, probably more likely, a canopy over the outside staircase. To prevent slips when it rains.

Honest to God didn't even realize there was an upstairs, I love hidden gems. Like the upstairs at Columbia Harbor House, no one ever there.

I sorta liked Electric Umbrella back when it had seating all on one level and was the Stargate and had edible food.

But I wonder what's up upstairs at Pinnochio's. That was another great quiet place to dine and sit, much like Columbia Harbor House, which for years had its second level closed off (pre DDP days).

What is an "Electric Umbrella" and why is a restaurant named after one? The name of that place always puzzled me.

An umbrella....that's electric? Yeah, I got nothing. That is a great question, though. Never stopped to think about the name (probably only ate there twice in all my visits).
