Pin Code Questions

Ok so recently we have been receiving pin codes in the mail. This last one we received seems like a good deal and we may consider going back this year because of it (30% off room and free park hoppers if staying more then 5 nights I think it said). However we never used a pin code before and was unsure of a few things. Can pin codes be used to book online? (i hate having to book a trip over the phone) I didn't see any place to enter them when we were browsing but could of missed it or its allowed to be entered once you book the trip. Also since we were looking directly on the Disney vacation site I noticed they had summer special offers on rooms, just one example was showing POR at $156, does my pin code take the additional 30% off that rate or their summer special is basically what my 30% off would be the same $156.

You must call to use a PIN code. You can not do it online. Even a travel agent would have to call.

You can not combine discounts. You can use the PIN code OR promotion offered online, not both.

Funny how everyone is different. I hate booking online and would much rather chatting with a great CM to book my trips. If I don't like the person I get I will make a excuse to hang up and call back!! Good luck with your PIN CODE they are normally really good deals just like bounce back deals!!!

Not true. I got the same pin (30% off and free hopper with 5 day ticket purchase) and just booked online Friday. Matter of fact, all the pins I have received I have booked online and never had any problem.

I get pin codes mainly by email - within the email you click a link and it takes you to the disney site where you verify your address information and check availability. If you do it online - make sure you check out the different options (I got this same pin): there were 5 different offers that showed up for me and the pin was still the cheapest (I got $72/night at sports in August) room only (did not need the free hopper or ticket as I have AP).

If you got a pin code in the postal mail then I am almost certain you have to call. But again - make sure its the cheapest rate. I called out of curiosity before I booked my pin online Friday and the CM tried to give me a more expensive rate that showed up but I knew from looking online my cheapest rate was $72/night.

I like booking my resort on my own. But I always call for dining reservations.

Yeah...PIN codes via email are a little bit of a different animal. Given that the OP did not mention having a link to follow and stated "mail" and not "email" I assumed it was a snail mail one.

This is why I still use use Kingdom Konsultants. I don't have to play the promotion shell game with the CMs on the phone. I send my agent a PIN if I get one and let here do the leg work.

That is a good point :)

the pin code I received was in regular mail I should of clarified. Okay so you were able to get an additional 30% off the already on sale price that I was getting online? And yup sounds like you have the very same code I have.

I want to say - yes. Which is why I say be careful about calling. When I looked online: it gave me several different prices for Sports ($72, $76, and much more expensive). I of course booked the cheapest rate with no problem. But I am not sure if that was an additional percentage off. The best thing you can do is use the site someone posted and input your code then compare prices (I had 4 or 5 different package options show up online).

Did you try the pin code online yet?

I did yes and it turned out to be same price quote as already on the site so no difference in savings  but we are still considering it since the park hopper for free is a nice add on, we normally don't bother with hoppers.

Absolutely do it! The park hopper is a nice freebie and a good way to maximize your time in the parks.
