Does Disney bother to send out pin codes to people that have already booked a vacation package?
You cannot link a credit or debit card to a MagicBand unless you are staying at a Disney resort.I have a question regarding this as well. Our last stay we stayed at the boardwalk... I thought I linked my debit account online with my magic band before the trip and apparently didn't. That 1st day it wasn't linked, once we went back to the hotel I got it straightened out at the front desk and was helped out by a great cast member. My question is this trip I have coming up in a month we are not staying on site. We already booked tickets and bought magic bands I just have to link them up online... But how do I link up my debit account to them? BC whatever I did last time didn't work.
I just remember when we took a friend with us last year and she had a debit card...I asked them at the resort desk to please link her debit card to her magic band. They did, but back home, her mother kept checking the account and nothing was being taken out of it, as far as she could tell. Well, once we were back home, I called Disney and they said it took some time for the charges to show up. Sure enough they finally did. Wish I could remember the time it took. All I know is, I was nervous because my credit card was linked to mine and my daughter's band and I did not want to get the friend's charges mixed with ours. It all worked out. Oh, and the friend never had a problem when she used the band throughout the trip. We were at a Disney resort. It was an easy way for us to keep our charges separate as well as allowing the then 13 year old to have a sense of authority over her expenses. Plus, I did not want her carrying around her debit card. You cannot link a credit or debit card to a MagicBand unless you are staying at a Disney resort.
Disney resort guests can link a debit card but @TXDisney is not staying at a Disney resort. Charging privileges (using a MagicBand) are limited to Disney resort guests only.I just remember when we took a friend with us last year and she had a debit card...I asked them at the resort desk to please link her debit card to her magic band. My girlfriend who is on my reservation, received a pin code earlier in the month. So, last night I finally called (twice) the first time, seemed like the rep had no idea what she was talking about so I hung up and called again. This time the rep checked to see how much I would save and tried a few times but it didn't work. She said every time she tried to apply the pin code, my package went up. I'm so confused with it..how did you get yours to work? Did you bribe them? lolIt's entirely random. Seems to help if you complete every survey possible, subscribe to every mailing list, make sure everyone in your family has a MDE account, order the planning DVD, etc.
I got a PIN code a month or so ago and added it to my vacation package reservation (got $200 off an already discounted Play, Stay & Dine reservation). Got another one yesterday. Wish I could transfer it to someone else!

Thank you! I didn't know this was possible and I just took a look at it. We Actually saved $72.00 staying with the Stay Play and Dine package. You can check this yourself. Log into your MDE account, then go to the website that is given on the Pin Code letter do everything it says there and then go out of that page and open your reservation page, "change" your resort and the pin code offer should be an option and it should give you the new prices. Unless it is a different process for a package, but this is how I added a pin code to my reservation yesterday.

i was told u couldnt view this offer online ( i wanted to see a breakdown of how much off per day) however i found i was able to view my pin discount online by going into my pin email and clicking where it says "get details"...i havent booked yet but did i understand you right that you were able to apply this discount as an additional discount? bc i thought u can use it on top of an already discounted package.I didn't know it was possible either. Everyone was saying you couldn't book pins online, but then I saw one person said they could so I played around with it and figured it out. Yay for saving money!

oh thats good to know bc if i understood it right, sdisney90 said that when calling disney they were unable to do it correct? i called disney for help with my pin and was given wrong info as well. i ended up fooling around and discovered i could view my pin offer online ( was told by disney rep i couldnt) which then gave me a breakdown of cost per nt ( disney rep said they couldnt do that either) and discovered that a particular resort that i told was excluded from promo was actuallly incuded.Nope. I didn't have a discount before applying the code. I used the up to 30% off code for mine since we just have a resort reservation. But after you put the pin code into the website as if you were using it to make a whole new reservation, you can then go into your reservation then "change" your resort you are staying at. It will then have two "offer" options. Like mine said "Standard room offer" for one of the options and then the second option was the pin code offer. So I just switched from the standard room offer to the pin code one. I actually switched resorts from movies to pop when I did this, but you can just select the same place you already have reserved to see the break down and apply it.

so your pin code was for the 30%? and prior to the promo you had a reservation with "rack rate" price ( no promo?)Yup! I would check it for yourself and see if it works.Mine applied to my reservation with no issues online. I didn't even try to call, it just seemed easier to do it that way.
