Pick an Epcot Restaurant for my family in October

Alright, so we are planning a trip for October. Yeah, I know, it seems like forever away. My family so far has only been able to dine at three restaurants in World Showcase. Le Cellier was ok, Marrakesh was great, and Via Napoli was absolutely the pits of you know where, in other words terrible. We aren't really picky so decided this just might be the best way to decide. We're not going to, you are. Have fun and explain your choice if you like.

We have had great dining experiences in WS, and La Hacienda de San Angel is becoming a favorite. Im all Norwayed out, so thats the only WS restaurant i wouldnt pick. But if you havent been there, its a nice place to go if you have kids looking to meet princesses. We just had a nice dinner at Tutto Italia on Christmas Eve, and a great lunch at Chefs on that same trip. Rose and crown is a big favorite of many on these boards. Im sure youll get opinions all over the place on here. Id suggest looking at the menus online, then pick what you think you would like best. Happy dining!

We had a super fun time at the Biergarten, the food was good. The only downside was that as a family of four we had to share our table with strangers. That being said they were a pleasant enough group.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I voted for Biergarten. Our group had a blast there in November.
It's easy to get ADR's, the music and entertainment were fun, and the food was pretty good too.
Our server was a bit of a disaster, but he was so earnest and tried so hard, that I ended up tipping him more than if he'd done an outstanding job.

We always go to Biergarten, it is a tradition. My husband LOVES German food, I don't really care for it but I will go entirely for the pretzel rolls. But the entertainment is fun and the staff are super friendly and really fun to talk with. Our last visit we sat with a group of early 20's guys from Germany who were doing a whole East coast of US tour and they were a blast.

Katsura Grill is a quick service restaurant... unless you meant Teppan Edo, which my family enjoys (if you have been to a Bennihanas pretty close to the same thing) Rose and Crown we love, atmosphere, food, we had a fabulous time. Chefs de France is OK, plus Remy makes an appearance!! (super cute) !!!

I love it, the point of going to the Biergarten is to share at table with strangers :) just like in Germany. My kids are 5 and 11 and they always want to go to the Biergarten no matter what. They love the show and dancing. Plenty of food to their liking. I don't know if they do this intentionally, but it seems we have always sat with folks that we had something in common. i.e. kids same age, from same part of the country etc. Never had an unpleasant meal there.

It would really help to know the size of your party and the ages/genders of those along for the ride. Without any of that people will just tell you what their personal favorites are which may or may not jive up with what you would enjoy or what would work best for your party.

If it helps there is my son, who will be 4 by the trip date, my wife 31, and me 32. So it's just the three of us, and as far as my wife is concerned all there will be. (I'm working on that though;))

Haha...love the commentary! I voted for Biergarten then. Our current favorite out of those is the San Angel but our DD is 10 so she enjoys it but for a four year old the hustle and bustle along with live entertainment at the Biergarten would be my choice. Excellent offerings at the buffet and good beer too. The only gamble is being seated with strangers but as long as you can make the best of the situation it is a great choice.

Rose & Crown is great if you can get seating on the patio for RoE show but they never guarantee that and the food has fallen off (IMO) there in the past year and a half or so.

Based on your avatar picture, looks like you have a young child along for the fun, so I went with Biergarten. Our DD has loved that one since she was quite young. Variety of food, good music, and the chance for the kids to dance and meet the musicians was all she could ask for.

Yes, that is my son getting his first haircut at the Harmony Barbershop. That was an experience let me tell you. We waited forever in line and then right as it was our turn to go, the people that had been behind us in line for about an hour decided to try to skip ahead of us. I was not a happy camper. The other terrible thing that happened does not involve my family at all really. There was a young girl just ahead of us that had done BBB for her birthday two days earlier. The dad brought her back to the MK to have her hair fixed. The pulling and tugging at BBB had broken her hair off in chunks. What was left was absolutely beautiful and long, down to her waist, but there was absolutely no way to keep it. They ended up having to cut her hair off to right below her ears to compensate for the damage. The dad cried about his 8 year old. This was her first hair cut, not because she wanted it, but because it had to be done.

Whoah...that is AWFUL!!! SO glad DD grew out of the princess stage before BBB hit the scene!

Not only did my DD (now 9) get her first haircut at Harmony Barbershop, but she has had EVERY haircut there. Refuses to let anyone else cut her hair. Last spring, it was an 8 inch cut (and then charity donation). It is much easier to lose that much hair when you choose to than when you have to!

I picked Rose and Crown and Les Chefs de France. Both are a must for us and we go every time we go to WDW. Rose and Crown has always accommodated us with an table by the water for Illuminations. And the Shepard Pie is amazing! I'm still crying that the Potato Leek soup is off the menu. :) Les Chefs is great! If you for lunch, you can see Remi! And dinner is always so delicious!!!!!

I have been to Beirgartan, Akerhaus, Tutto and San Angel. The atmosphere at Beirgartan is great HOWEVER, if you do not like sauerkraut - like me - you will not find anything to eat. Everything has it. I ended up eating dessert and bread and potatoes - hello carbs! :) Akerhaus for breakfast is the way to go. If you go for dinner or lunch - and have any kind of picky eaters with you - you will have a tough time finding something on the menu. San Angel is just okay. It didn't blow my socks off. I think the Mexico restaurants outside are better, La Cantina and La Hacienda . As for Tutto....YUCK! Seriously - why is it so hard to get an Italian restaurant at Epcot????

Monsieur Paul is newly done. It was closed when we were there last. So haven't tried but sure it would be amazing. Not sure if it would be worth the signature dining credits though. As for the last too - Katsura and Toyko - I have heard mixed reviews on Toyko Dining - either you love it or hate it and since we don't eat sushi, Katsura is out too.

Honestly as someone else mentioned, I didn't think everything at Biergarten had sauerkraut and I love the place! Found lots of food options and traveling solo that day - had a wonderful group of people to sit with....great conversation and fun. That being said I'm surprised you had such a bad experience at Via Napoli - I ADORED IT!! The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere fantastic. We went for dinner. Unfortunately once you have that tarnished experience it does tend to stick with you  That being said I just love Biergarten AND Teppan Edo! Teppan Edo isn't on your list and albeit a bit loud....you once again get to sit with strangers and meet people from all over while at the same time enjoying a great cooking experience with new friends and family. So I vote Biergarten or Teppan Edo :D

The food at Via Napoli, by all family accounts, was just meh. But the real problem was service. It took 2 1/2 hours for our meal. We checked in and were seated within five minutes. It then takes another 15 min to come for our drink order. Another 15 passed by the time we got them. We had to convince our server to stay long enough with the drinks to let us actually order. After ordering it took literally an hour before our food arrived.

My son loves going to the local Hibachi/ Teppanyaki place so, I don't think Teppan Edo would be anything exciting for him. Biergarten just might be though. Thank you for your response.
