Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Is the pearl and the setting of nice and sturdy quality? Can you peak the metal of the setting? I'd love to do this but don't want a junky ring.

Yep you can pick the settings. There is a lot to choose from. They range from sterling silver to different carats of gold in white or yellow gold. All on what you want to spend. None of them i find are made cheap looking that I have gotten. I have one in silver and I think possibly some with white gold. Also you don't have to have it set if you don't want to. :)

I agree with the rest! The Japan store is the best, they sing/chant and make it almost a show for the unveiling of the pearl. At least they did when we were in there watching.

I've gone by the pick a pearl a hundred times at least and never paid attention to prices. Anyone have prices for both pearl picking and settings? And are you always guaranteed a pearl?

We now visit the Japan pearl excursion on every visit to Epcot. What started as one pearl per visit is now two per visit.

Have a bunch of them, only once did we buy a setting and that was a mistake, very poor quality.

Obviously doing this every visit is a more expensive way of collecting pearls, but its the novelty of it. :)

There is also a small kiosk in Disney Springs, the marketplace area, a few bucks cheaper on the pearl, much less enthusiastic (and Disney) about the whole process. Won't go there ever again though, they actually had the audacity to verbally bash the Epcot Japan experience. I think they should be removed for Disney Springs personally for such conduct. :cautious:

You are guaranteed a pearl because they are cultured pearls (the grain of sand is put in the oyster which is how pearls are made) raised in farms. These are not natural pearls in wild oysters.
