*sigh*
Making me nostalgic for the old days, when strollers were MUCH less a problem and scooters didn't exist.

I just don't see the fun in dragging around a baby that won't even remember bring there. Then you have to hassle with lugging the stroller around, parking it, and making sure nobody takes it or your stuff. To each their own I guess......

What if you yourself have a baby and want to visit the parks because YOU enjoy them?

I'd either have my in laws watch them while my wife and I visited the parks or I'd wait until they were a little bit older. I have plenty of friends that are waiting until their kids are 5 or so until they go. I just personally wouldn't have much fun fighting the crowds while pushing a stroller.

As you said, to each their own. They may not remember the trips in their early years, but I sure do, very, very fondly.

Yeah, that's the weird thing about me. I grew up going to DL from a kid up until I was 15, but I hardly remember any of it.

I don't care about the boats, but I hate seeing "something" replaced with "nothing." Hopefully this is temporary and there will be more than just strollers there.

Again, there is very little chance of the boats going around the Treehouse for many reasons already stated in this thread. What they are looking at trying to do is create a bypass for the ADA boats like they do at TSMM so that we can keep the attraction moving along and still be able to load/unload those guests who need to use the ADA boats. It would result in much less delay time for all of the guests. How they are going to do that is what is still being decided upon. They very well could merge out into the former Ned's area a little bit and make a turn back to the main river. There is "some" room back there to do that with, but it will be very, very tight with the maintenance bay right there as well. Which is why they are still in the studying phase of this.

I wasn't going to get into this conversation becuase it's off topic from the purpose of the thread but there are assumptions being made that I think are unfair. I've been taking my DS6 since he was 10m old and wouldn't change it for the world. People who say kids that go that early don't remember anything usually are saying it based on an assumption and not experience. Not sure about other kids but let me tell you, my DS will mention things he remembers from WDW that are from those early trips before he was even 2 (we were AP holders so after the 10m trip he went 4 more times in the next year). Experiencing Disney through his eyes at that age, when he was so full of wonder and just soaking it all up, was simply magical in every sense of the word. Watching his reaction when he met his first character (Winnie the Pooh at 10m) was a priceless moment I'll never forget. Seeing him in awe of everything around him was beyond incredible. So... I say... there is no age too young, stroller haters or not. LOL! :D

Well...
We took our son at 15 mo and he had a blast.
We took him at 27 mo and he talked about it for over a year, until
We took him at 45 months and he loved it, and now
We will take him at 57 months and he can't wait.

All of these trips we needed a stroller. You can't expect a kid to walk miles per day.
Those who like to crow about strollers can take a big sip from the "you know what" cup.

Oh, and don't like meet and greets? Don't go to them.

Nah, I don't buy it. My parents started taking me at 4 years old and I vaguely (very vaguely) remember it. We went every other year after that and the most vivid, lasting, hooking me on Disney memories came when I was 6 and 8 years old. The trips after were great too, but the magic happened between those years, not before. This is personal experience. Yes, I've been lucky enough to go ALOT in my life, so has my brothers who started going before me, and they will say the same thing.

Besides, what's the point of bringing a little one that can't go on 95% of the rides and to go through the hassle of dealing with diapers, feedings, strollers, strollers, strollers, puke, feedings, crying, napping, etc etc?

Hey, more power to you if you have the ridiculous patience that that will require. But hey, my kids aren't going till their 5 or older. Until then, there will be a happy grandma ready to stand the kid duty for a week.

Well that's good, cause I ain't selling it.

Fact is, most of the rides do not require a height restriction, the only ones I can think of are: (MK= SM, SGE, BTM, and Splash) (EP= MS, Soarin, & TT) (AK= CTX, KRR, Everest, & the spinner coaster in dinoland) and (DHS= ToT, RnR, ST)

Sorry you don't remember your early trips that well. I was going to DL between 2 & 5 years old and have fond memories of HM, PotC, Storybook land, the fireworks and Tomorrowland 67' to name but a few.
My son is 4.75 and talks about the rides in great detail and describes how he will make rides when he is an Imagineer. The fact that he understands what and Imagineer does is what is going to get him on HM again (he was good on it until the last trip when he was old enough to be spooked) but now he understands an Imagineer made the ride just like he wants to do when he grows up.

I think this whole discussion started though because people complain about strollers at a FAMILY vacation destination.
I'd be with you if we where talking about the old Pleasure Island, a Rolling Stones concert, or Vegas, but this is WDW, deal with the strollers.

It's Disney. There are kids. Of course there will be strollers, and lots of them.

I think the problem isn't the presence of strollers so much as the fact that people leave them everyplace and anyplace, putting them literally in the middle of or immediately next to attraction entrances instead of walking 10 or 20 feet to the stroller parking area.

Also, people try to leave them along sidewalks and pathways as placeholders for parades and shows that are still hours away.

And some people use them as battering rams.

Not sure if the angst was aimed at me, so I'll wait to respond to that. As far as kids walking miles per day, my kids did it just fine. They were 8 and 7 and not only did they keep up just fine, but I think I was more tired at the end of the day as opposed to them. Maybe if more kids did more walking you might not see so many obese children.

As for M&G's, we like em just fine and do them often.

Isn't it obvious? Clearly the boats were removed in order to free up space for the IJA queue .. Just kidding, it's going next to PoTC

I refuse to believe that at 15 months that your son got any more satisfaction out of Disney World than he did from crapping his pants.

I actually think it looks better with out the boats there. If I was going deep into the jungle to explore rivers, I dont think I would expect to see a remote control boat game at the entrance to the docks.

But I have been thought of as a corporate sympathizer, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.....

I'm not sure babies will remember, but I sure remember their screaming, whinning and general noise making when I'm there. Makes the World extra magical for everyone else.
