So, as far as strollers and all... I know my idea is controversial, but I think all outside strollers should be banned. You can hide anything in them and strollers for some reason get bigger and bigger every year. You may rent "Disney" strollers that are all uniform in size and you get to "after" you have been screened. Am I a jerk for thinking this?

lol... to answer your last question...yes

I am all for not having 10 year old's in strollers (Every thread has gone over this I think. Lazy kids should walk.) but a ban on all outside strollers...negative.

Think about it another way. Bad actor learns that security only asks for bags to be removed from stroller, but security doesn't check the rest of the stroller. Bad actor secures weapon under stroller, bad actor enters MK with weapon.

It's funny this is prevailing theory. Even though violent crime rate in London is worse than say Los angels because there's obviously far less gun use its ok.

But you have the US media sensationalizing every firearms incident so to a foreign tourist it seems likely that a gunfight is likely to occur at any moment due to the media hyping man bites dog stories

Bad actor could also pack frame of stroller with explosives. So i agree no outside strollers

Think about it another way. No way I am paying for a crappy stroller when I bring one that is better, smaller and more maneuverable.

"Lets just ban everything...everywhere"....no thanks

Like others have mentioned, my only concern is the impact on resort to resort travel using the monorail line. I'm thinking that for the resort line only, it would make more sense to bag check at the monorail station instead of at each resort. I'm sure folks here that are way more familiar with the layout of the MK monorail station will point out reasons why that would be challenging or impossible but from a logical point of view I think it makes more sense to check immediately at drop off. Then, only folks intending to go to MK would be checked while others are free to travel resort to resort as usual.

I think there's a couple logistical problems with that idea: 1) The resort monorail line and express monorail line both exit at MK into the same space, so it would be very difficult to separate out who still needs to go through security. 2) Someone could get on the resort line, take it to the TTC, then hop to the express line. They would then be able to enter MK without ever going through security.

I don't think either of those problems are insurmountable, but I think they help explain why checking at each resort makes more sense.

I'm not a D&G'er, but I do truly wonder if resort hopping by monorail will become a thing of the past in an effort to reduce the "strain" on security/monorails. You'd still have watercraft and taxis I guess. Would really be a bummer for the group of family & friends I tend to travel with as having an evening where we monorail hop to the restaurants and lounges has been a longstanding tradition.

Don't think it will be that bad. It screens for the monorails too. I would guess that running to catch the monorail will be a thing of the past. You can be sure, though, that another monorail isn't far behind.

Hypothetical situation: You are attending MVMCP or MNSSHP at MK later that night, but want to tour Epcot for the day. Park at TTC, monorail to Epcot, come back to MK for party and your car is in the TTC lot.

Or, maybe MK is open late and you plan to finish your night there, so you park at TTC, monorail to Epcot for the day. Maybe you have a dining reservation, or you have a few drinks but no worries because you don't have to drive back to MK - just monorail. By park close, you've sobered up, your car is in the TTC waiting for you and you go home.

Just off the top of my head, these two came to mind. I'm sure there's other reasons people might park at TTC but include an Epcot stop in their day. *shrugs*

Doesn't really matter where you park. If you're parked at Epcot and want to travel to MK, when you arrive at the TTC via monorail, you can't walk directly across to the express loop anyway. You have to walk down and go up the ramp for the express loop. With security in place, that means going through security before boarding the express loop.

From what others have said, no it does not.

This is the test. How else would you have them do it? Also, doing it now has the benefit of knowing what works during the crowded times. Better to know now if that works, rather than test at a slow time, and find out it is completely inadequate for busy times.

I just hope that they remove the structures in front of MK, since they aren't using them anymore.

Agree. Better to do it now before Spring Break and Easter holiday. Work out the kinks before the Summer season.
