Is it only me or does there seem to be less treat locations then in years past?

I think I remember locations where Tiana normally meets in Liberty Square and near where the TSI rafts launch

One of these days I'm finally gonna do this. I wish schools, especially elementary schools, were a little more forgiving when it came to time off for a family vacation. :)

We went on impulse in Fall of 2008. It was the first one of the year. We had a great time. We walked on every ride, went trick or treating, and loved the headless horseman in the Halloween parade ( and the candy smell from Goofy's candy float). The fireworks were fun too with lots more villians. I think the best part, which made it magical, was the response from the cast members. When you walked in they lined the streets welcoming you. My son was given an extra cookie at dinner because he was dressed up like Peter Pan. They thanked him for dressing up. If I was willing to spend the money, I would skip MK during regular operating hours and go to the Halloween event. I still have a picture up of my husband and son posing with the guys who dressed up like dead civil war identities. They were fabulous! Rides are fun and without them I wouldn't go to the parks, but for our family, the cast members make our vacations magical.

How busy do people expect this to be tomorrow? Parents are down there and was wondering if it gets packed is it still worth it?

Sunday through Thursday parties are always fantastic in terms of crowds (especially this far out from Halloween). Fridays and Saturdays are another beast.

When the "forest" is basically complete next year in the NFL... that area should be quite fun to explore during MNSSHP. If they take the same care they do with special lighting on lighting certain attractions, like THM, it should be quite spectacular.

That's the next time I'll be there; not in the cards for this year.

Can anyone comment on special characters this year? Obvious we have the standard Seven Dwarfs near Splash, Alice near Mad Tea Party, Etc. But what about the Riverboat Dock? Or Town Square (Since Pooh has moved to fantasyland) anybody know?

It will be the same lineup with minor changes...No one new that doesn't already appear in daily rotation somewhere at wdw

Silly question...what's the difference between a "trick or treat area" and a "trick or treat trail"?

A "trick or treat area" will be where there is a queue to get to 1 set of cast members to get candy.
A "trick or treat trail" will be where you walk a "trail" and go past multiple sets of cast members to get candy. (ie, Storybook-Tomorrowland trail, there will probably be CMs at the start in Storybook Circus, CMs at the end in Tomorrowland, and a few CMs in between along the path.)

Yep, the "trails" seem to yield more candy in my experience. And look for the "specialty" candy areas, like the Werthers station, if you enjoy one kind of candy over another.
