I realize it's practically tradition to put you Christmas decorations up in late October, but I sure do wish they could wait at least until after Thanksgiving.

It'd look kinda odd at the 7 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parties scheduled before Thanksgiving...

(On a side note, the early-November MVMCP dates are relatively new. Many years ago the Christmas decorations did wait until the day after Thanksgiving to go up)

Last year at this time I was 5 weeks out on surprising our kids with our first holiday trip to WDW. I can't believe it's been almost a year. And worse yet, we have no Disney trips on the horizon yet. :(

Glad to see the garlands across Main Street are there. Hope this isn't that last time we see them due to rumors that the new parade floats are too tall to get under them.

About the only place left in America that still does that is Nordstrom. If you are lucky enough to live in a city with a Nordstrom; they are closed on Thanksgiving and it's a tradition that all the store employees come in Thanksgiving night (after dinner) and have a decorating party. When the store opens the day after Thanksgiving the store is suddenly decorated for Christmas. It's a mandate from the very tasteful and classy Swedish-American Nordstrom family that still owns and operates the chain from its headquarters in downtown Seattle.

Alas, I don't think it's practical for a Disney theme park to do that sort of thing. Especially at Disneyland where nearly every land receives themed Christmas décor, it would be impossible to put it all up even within just one week in late November, let alone within a few days after Thanksgiving. While they still only decorate Main Street USA at WDW, instead of all the lands, I imagine the same department who installs the décor in the WDW parks also does all the wonderful décor for the WDW hotel lobbies, and that's a HUGE job that takes weeks.

But at least there's still Nordstrom. :)

It looks like the BIG red bows are new.. I do not remember those that bright last December. I will see in 31 days!!!! holllaaaaaaaa

on a side note. I think it is stupid they wait till 12/9 to put the tree up... just put it on the side lawn like they used to... Does anyone have a pic of it there? I can't find mine

No Christmas tree up I'm guessing? Why don't they do the Christmas parade taping earlier like DL so they can put up the tree sooner. Honestly there's no reason why the tree shouldn't already be up and the taping of the Christmas parade can be adjusted because of the tree. They did it for years so why now?

I don't understand the appeal of going to a Mickey's Not So Merry Party before you celebrate Thanksgiving, either.
