Why does WDW seem to be wanting to get the college age crowd in? I'm sorry this has evolved into a frat party.

I think that's an exaggeration, to say the least. The atmosphere does ebb and flow with the crowd, as well as the staff, but anyone comparing this to a "college frat party" has never to a college party, nor downtown (Orlando, not Disney) on a Friday night. At least two of the skits are practically lifted word for word from Anaheim. I smell a little bit of the standard DLR bias in these reviews.

Yeah I imagine the atmosphere changes alot depending on the crowd. When we were there most of the patrons were early 20s. I felt like that creepy alumni who still goes to college parties...lol

I was basing my opinion on the earlier blogs here...I'll admit it was wrong to do that. As I haven't, seen the place or been to DLR, I have no comparison . It's easy sometimes to jump to the wrong conclusion. I'll go with an open mind, and open wallet.:D

Nor to the downtown area of a College town in the Southeastern Conference during football season.

I was very impressed by this place but quite surprised that they made it so small. Surely they could've (and still could) expanded the place north to enclose the patio. 51 seats is very tiny for being something this newsworthy at the most popular vacation destination on the planet. I see long waits and required advance reservations in the very near future. :(

You really think they'll add a bar to the ADR system?

Wouldn't put it passed them. they serve food in there as well but it's gonna get a lot of attention and the current seating capacity will make it continually difficult to get in. We couldn't get in until 11pm last week and still had to wait 45 minutes.

It's funny that some people think TSGG will be so busy that it might require ADRs and others think it will will be empty because there is no target audience for it. I think it might be reasonable just see what happens once the bar officially opens and has been around for a few months.

Also, I think people are being overly critical about the show and effects. It's been open a week and the CMs have to get into the groove, both learning to work together and seeing how it works with the customers. Some of the critiques on here seem to ignore the entire point of a soft opening. Of course it's not going to be up to par with TS in Disneyland which is beyond those growing pains.

I can't speak for others, but I think it looks awesome and look forward to checking it out.

Doesn't the idea of have a barstool "Locked In!" to your schedule relieve all months of stress and worry leading up to your trip that you'll be forever locked out if you're not "Locked In!"? I mean seriously, if you don't want to be standing outside, all puffy eyed and a tear stained face, peering into the Golden Grotto you will never be in, ADRs are the only answer. ADRs are truly a Godsend.

Get with the program, man!

I can name four bars in Orlando that I could have them make a seat for me if it was full.

More if @71jason was with me.

In my rough estimation, in the area between the Mall@Millenia and U.S. 192 there are roughly 93,000 places to get a drink.

This whole thing just screams of WDW fans being so STARVED for new content, that they will queue up for an hour just to get a glimpse of a tiny room decorated by WDI.

I believe you hit the nail on the head. Unfortunately that reinforces to Glendale that if they keep the masses starved, anything new will be an instant hit.

Better add Disneyland to that equation.... because when their Sam's opened, they had the same scenario of long waits and tons of excitement. (And that's as Disneyland was reopening half of DCA and all their new attractions)

This is the shiny new thing. It's going to be overdone for a while and then fade into the natural rhythm of the resort. DL Sam's is still popular, yes, but much more reasonably so. TSGG will do the same.
