I can only assume that they're "not building" another DVC. Either that or changing lightbulbs as Scuttle suggested.

One of these was already up on the Bay Lake side of the building when I stayed there back in Sept/Oct. A small area was walled off at the base but there were no obvious signs of construction going on.

Light replacement seems likely from the way they have it setup...notice it is centered on that and the way they have the protective screening pushed away from the building.... the decks from the pics look in great shape on either side so I wouldnt imagine that it would be that...and besides why do several floors at once!?

My guess is the lights....

WHOA EVERYBODY!!

The Health & Wellness Suites were all but canceled MONTHS AGO!! Where have you all been??

You cannot book them anymore, and those who have booked them have gotten calls to convert their reservations into the existing 14th floor Tower Club Concierge Level Suites or and alternative provided to them.

Apparently they WILL be renovating the suites, but now not until January of 2013 along with the planned 6 month gut job of the California Grill - which may be one of the reasons they held off - to get the two connecting floors done together (reduction in cost, noise). And the Health & Wellness concept is not for sure anymore - apparently in did not sell well.

If the California Grill renovation is news to you, know that they will be completely redoing the roof over it, the ceiling inside, floor inside, and all plumbing and electrical. No word of changes on interior design. Chefs and cooks are already actively working with casting to be relocated - but it is the wait staff that will take the biggest hit.. They will most likely have to go down to a casual restaurant and take a big tip cut.

The current skrims are to protect against falling debris from outside balcony work on the drain in each balcony that runs into the bathroom plumbing. If you walk by the rooms you can peak inside the doors while they are doing work and see that all furniture is removed and, in some cases, the floor concrete is ripped up.

First I've heard the news. Thanks for the info.

Cali Grill is still a wonderful place, and in decent shape, but still has a 90's vibe, so a refurb could be helpful. Do you know the time frame for closure?

The Wellness suites delay (or eventual cancellation?) doesn't surprise me at all. It seemed like they were going for a very tiny market with those, and with the costs and construction involved, it may just not be worth it.
