Looks like cheap costume jewelry or a child's dollhouse rather than a real castle now. The gold on what is supposed to be stone is awful.
At least they didn't bring back the atrocious birthday cake garbage.

Yeah, those aerial shots have not improved my opinion. It still looks terrible.

Fingers crossed they still have a lot of work to do -- if not, I'm very much hoping it looks significantly better in person.

At least the castle cake was a true transformation.

This is still supposed to look like a castle, but it doesn't because of the Toys R Us pink aisle paint job. Cinderella Castle, at its core, has an internal logic to its foundations and proportions, even though it uses forced perspective. It is based on real castles and is meant to evoke a historical European influence, not an animation drawing. Putting saturated pinks and excess amounts of golden accents does not fit the structure's style.

I didn't realize how badly it needed to be painted until seeing this.

It definitely needed a touch-up (especially the blue), but the current photo looks even worse when compared to the one from a year ago. That older photo actually looks like it could potentially be a real castle/chateau, as opposed to the hideous monstrosity in the second.

It never looked like a real castle... just looked like a Disney castle that was faded and abused.

The new look is gorgeous. 🙌

It looked like the kind of faux castle chateaus built in the 19th and early 20th centuries (Neuschwanstein Castle, especially). A Disney version, of course, but reminiscent nevertheless.

Now it looks like something a 7 year old colored in a coloring book. It's atrocious. The pink is by far the biggest problem -- it's a really ugly color that doesn't blend well with the blue or the gold. If it was desaturated about 75% it might look okay.

It looks great. I’m sorry you don’t find it pleasing, that really sucks for you. 😓

I mean... it is. They have barely started the stone work it looks like.

As much as I dislike the pink color they've used, the juxtaposition of the grey base and the pink building is really jarring. They need to go all out and make the whole thing pink if they're committed to it; it looks bizarre as is.

Although, in thinking about it, that may be entirely because of the aerial perspective. I'm not sure the base/building difference would look so strange at ground level.

After what I've seen in pictures so far, maybe just a fresh coat of paint and gold accents might have looked a lot better. The disconnect between the stone base and the rest of the castle is too obvious now, due to the choice of pink/rose, imo.

Not ready to say "I love it! or I hate it! just yet, though.

They haven’t completed painting the stone base yet either.
