yeah, it seems to be if the photographer is in the mood or not. and if he is really busy or not.
i have never been asked about a magic shot, but several other family members get asked all the time.
maybe i just look grumpy or something..............
so offer me the grumpy magic shot !
but just ask and they will do them

I've done a few before!
I've done the Tinker Bell ones loads of times, usually in front of the castle or the Tower of Terror.
I've done a Chip one too. They came out really cute!

Always feel free to ask any photographer you see! And see if the photographers know if there are any other magic shots done within the park or within the area, as some are 'themed' to certain areas/lands. They're pretty awesome little things, the best part is when you get to see your photo with the magic in it!

A list would be great. I was not asked at all on recent trip early sept. I thought about it later when looking at photos online and wondered if they still do that. There was a lot of things we found are no longer done which makes it less magical. Going again in Jan will def ask each photographer. The HM ghost was in both our day photo and our night photo at MNSSHP and we weren't even told was a surprise when I saw them online

Just checked my photos on Photopass Plus and there is NO MAGIC in our magic shots!!! We did baby Simba, Stitch and Tinkerbell and the characters aren't there! Booooooooo!!!!
Did you call them to see about getting it fixed? One time mine were missing the characters and they fixed it while I was on the phone with them. It was quick and easy.

It was 'magically' fixed today! I think the problem was when I logged on on Saturday, they were still on the 'old' Photopass site. Now, they are on the 'new' My Magic+ Photopass site! Some of my photos were missing on Saturday too, and when I logged on this morning to call them - poof! There they were and all the photos were there too!
I love the new site too! So much easier to navigate.

Someone one this web site made a list about a year ago. Search around and I'll bet you find it. It was great.

My advice: ask. Ask everytime you get a photo done. The magic shots tend to be done in areas where they are in a walkway, or in front of the big things: castle, tree of life, etc. I've never had one with a character, so I don't think there are any at m&g. But anytime we get a photo near the castle, we ask. We've gotten tinkerbell, Simba, balloons, the ghost in the carriage at HM..
