Phone crushed on TOT

hearing that my worry is people will complain enough and rides will end up like at universal with their policy of having to rent lockers and not have anything on your person or pockets. I hope not because thats a total pain and makes just riding an attraction a whole ordeal.

"Disney did not do enough to protect my personal belongings! I paid $100 for my park ticket, that should entitle me to more personal item protection! They should post a warning outside of the attraction about possible flying objects during ride operation! I'm not happy, Disney, and you need to fix this!!!!!!!!!!!"
Just remember that if this were a Cedar Fair park, more money would have been ripped out of you for lockers...

The physics still don’t make sense.. and I’m not a physics person.

I hold my phone while on ToT, not once have I come close to losing it. My bag sits on the floor while on ToT, it’s never been in any danger of flying out.

Despite the hate some people have for them on this forum, cargo shorts are handy for putting something in the leg pocket and closing the little flap; hence, cargo shorts are on my person every day I spend at WDW. I am a tiny bit OCD, so before and after every ride, as well as every 10 minutes of walking, I am checking the pockets to make sure everything is in there. :D

Yes! I have 3 kids, cargo shorts are the best for the parks, or going anywhere else where you're going to have to carry stuff for miniature humans. The bottom pockets are great for sippy cups and random toys they accumulate throughout the day.

Great perk of being a dad: no one expects you to have any sort of fashion sense, and you stopped caring anyway a long time ago.

Submitted for your approval: someone goes on a ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios, thought in mind to have their face in their phone and record video of every breathing moment they are there, instead of experiencing the rides and enjoying it themselves. Their videos, instead of being on YouTube, joining the millions of the same kind of videos with the exception of the moment of impact, are now saved on a cloud, somewhere in...

The Twilight Zone.

I'm just here for the cargo shorts discussion.
I remember the recent thread that involved a huge discussion on cargo shorts, and the loathing some people have for them. Really, they're khaki shorts with a pocket on each leg-what's the problem? Let's put it this way-I'll never need a backpack at WDW, although my cargo short pockets may look like I am carrying various small animals with me.

A few weeks ago at WDW, I was able to hold a poncho, small bottle of water and a couple pins I bought in the cargo pockets! Made getting into rides quicker, and everything was securely buttoned in!

Sometimes those stuffed cargo pockets can make the lap bar on rides a bit uncomfortable-or that could be mostly due to my protruding front waistline.

We got stuck on Tower of Terror... someone dropped their cell phone AND bag in the drop shaft! The ride RAN OVER the cell phone, it is CRUSHED. and the bag was right on the bottom of the drop as well. Maintenance showed us the phone right in front of us. Like wow. That was interesting.
This explains the "Terror" part in Tower of Terror.

Regular shorts are just fine too. I've got a zipper pocket in the back that is perfectly sized for my phone. I like staying on site so I can do without my wallet. Wallet has since disappeared so I've just got a couple cards & cash I can hair-tie to my phone. Cargo shorts worked when daughters were younger and I had pacifiers and all sorts of stuff in those pockets.

I can no longer live without a phone case that also holds cards. I love it!!

Disney should just do what Hershey Park does: collect all the smashed phones/valuables, put them in a clear container, and then put them next to the warning sign at the rides' entrances.
And you can see the evolution of phone tech like an archeological dig. Clamshell Nokias at the bottom, Samsung Galaxy on top.

Get with the program people. Zipper pockets are the only way to go to parks. Not only are the very sexy and stylish, but they are full proof. And, the best part is that they restrict how much you can bring into the park, so you can focus on going to the park and having the time of your life, and not lugging around all of your worldly possessions. I mean, seriously what do you guys carry in your endless supply of bags that you bring through security?

Things that don't fit in pockets - sunscreen, water bottles, rain ponchos, jackets that I don't need at 1 pm, but might need at 9 pm, etc. Multiply that by the number of people in the family and put all that in one bag.
