Philly's Curse

Everyone knows about the Bambino and the goat (and Steve Bartman). But it seems Philly sports are cursed as a whole. But until today, I never knew why. It was a golden era for Philly sports from 1960-1983 with all 4 major teams winning championships. But after 1983, nothing. But why? Today I was told ESPN discussed the Philly Curse and traced it back to a municipal statue, that until 1985, prohibited having buildings in Philadelphia higher than the top of William Penn's hat on top of City Hall. After 1985, Philly was finally allowed to build skyscrapers but now we realize there was a cost. We angered William Penn! Now I say, we must tear down those skyscrapers! For the good of the city!

wow... so thats the curse.... Their baseball team is cursed... i thought they beat Tampa.. wait half of the teams can defeat Tampa's Baseball Team....

Just not our football team....

It surprised me to find out, in an evening of boredom-induced research, that Philly is the only city other than NY to have won titles in every major sport since 1960. Of course, the flip side is that they haven't won anything in over 20 years. Weird, huh?
