Well, I can breathe a little easier now! As many of you now know, I've had my Disney trip on the books for Sept 14-21 since February. My 180 day mark inconveniently fell on March 18th, which was the first day of a 2 week trial I had been preparing for for months. So up I was at 6 am trying to get these reservations made online and then over the phone because I knew if I waited until the end of the day that there was a good possibility some of my ideal time slots would be gone.
So, I get all of my reservations done, head to trial and day 1 goes fine. Well, we get into day 2 and the attorneys on the other side make some big mistakes and upon my request, the judge declares a mistrial (i.e., we get a mulligan).
We go back to the judge today to get a date for our new trial. Now, I had called the judge about a week ago to see what days he had open so I could make sure all of my witnesses were available. He had two and OF COURSE one of the two was September 16-27 - which would mean the Disney trip along with all of my ADRs would have to be rescheduled... and of course I had no excuse because all of my witnesses were available. (and it's not like I can tell a judge- sorry judge, can't make it. I'm in Disney).
So, I get there today and bless the Lord the other attorney can't do September 16th!! So, we got pushed back to January - which means all of my travel plans can stay intact! These last few days have been dreadful wondering if I would have to re-do everything! SO RELIEVED right now
