PH passes I can't use-they expire

I was not sure where to post this.
I recently purchased and rec'd 4-day PH passes through the WDW World of Sports special promos for a Pres. week event. we will be attending.
Now DH realizes he does not want to go to WDW parks-for 4 days but would like to try Universal. The passes are 4-day, plus 1 option that includes either PI, DQ or waterparks.
I paid $149 per ticket. Please let me know if anyone can use these. They are valid 2/12-2/23/04.
Thanks,
Nezy

First off, you're making a big mistake by going to Universal instead of Disney. And on the back of your tickets, check to see if they say "nontransferable." If they do, it pretty much makes it illegal to sell them. I'm not saying it's not done, but it is illegal.

I like Universal, but if I only had 4 days I would just stick to the Disney parks. Does your husband realize that 4 days isn't enough time to tour WDW alone? Doing WDW and Universal within 4 days would be too rushed. -Steph

Even if you did sell them on eBay, I don't think you'd get too much $$ for them. By the time you got back from using them, listed them, ran an auction, and shipped them they would probably have just a day or two until they expired. -Stephanie

I'm with you re: WDW v. Universal.

We go to Disney every year so I guess DH thinks we should try something different. We don't have that feeling of having to see everything because we do come frequently.

I am not an e-bay'er so I probably wouldn't go that route.
We will actually be in the WDW area for a week. We may use 2 or 3 days of the passes. I of course would use all 4. I may just have to and leave DH behind at the pool or drop him at the gates of Universal.

Well, if you're really serious about it, if you drive down 192, you'll find a lot of little booths set up in parking lots selling "Cheap Disney Tickets" and other items like that. If you talk to them, usually they buy "half used" Disney tickets. Yes, it's illegal. But they do buy them.

Are you the police of Disney Tickets? LOL Check anytime on eBay, there are generally 100-200 auctions on at a given time with PH tickets.

You may get somthing for them, someone is always looking for somthing out there...

The only tickets you really can't sell are APs or anything that has a name printed on the ticket and requires the Bone scan.

I went to Universal once....and after having been to Disney, I was spoiled. I hated Universal!

Anyway, with as restrictive as your tix are, I doubt you'll find anyone who is buying them this late for a trip in that time. Also, people are reluctant to buy PH passes because they have no way of knowing what's left on them.

In summary, just go to WDW all 4 days, HAHA!

LMAO....

Ticket Police? Too funny! It never stops, does it?

People would NOT be reluctant to buy tickets that are valid for a specific date that has not yet occurred. One could reasonably expect that the ticket could not have been used prior to the start of the valid dates.

Yes, go to Universal for a change and have fun.:D

ok...back to the shootout!

I think you will still get your money's worth, if you plan to visit WDW in 2/3 days. Think about it, each park is, what, $55 with tax a ticket now...and you can park hop. Since you paid $149 for them, you might as well take advantage and just use them and park hop in those days you are there.

you would have NO trouble selling those on E bay, I would sell them as a 1 day auction with a $1 start/ $100 reserve, and offer next day shipping for a little extra. you'd probably get $150+ for them, as long as you don't mention the price you paid.;) - I know you mentioned you don't like the bay, but its an incredible tool if you play with it.

The op said they will be on vacation for a week, so say they get back on the 19th or 20th and then the tickets are only good until the 23rd. So, if they listed them the day they got home for an auction that last 24 hrs, and the person paid instantly, they could ship the tickets on the 21st or 22nd. So the buyer would get the tickets, what, 24 hrs or so before they expire? What would be the chances a person would happen to go on ebay who is going to the park soon, doesn't have tickets and be willing to pay for overnight shipping?

I sold 2 MVMCP Tickets 3 Days in advance, and they sold within 3 hours after I listed the auction. I put an "Immediate PayPal Payment Required" On the Buy It now, and only offered overnight shipping.

It worked out perfect

I really would like to use all 4 days plus the 1 at Disneyquest, butDH would like to try Universal. I wish we had 2 weeks instead of one because I also enjoy the days of just relaxing by the pool.

I do love WDW better than Universal-pixie dust and magic and all that goes with it! I kknow the kids might like to try Universal for some of the coasters and such.

Probably my best bet would be to sell them prior to the valid dates as someone mentioned here.

I just feel the tix were such a good rate-I hate not to use them. We can always do Universal next year!

Thanks for all of the suggestions!

Are you atalking about park hopper passes (PH)? Or length of saty passes. From my understanding the park hopper passes do not expire. Now the length of stay ones do. Is that what you are talking about ????
