I saw on the new dvd for the Little Mermaid today that Peter Pan will be released soon after being fixed up. That makes me happy because that is one of my favorite movies of all times. I just wanted to post this.
Also, I have a question. Does anybody know where I can find a list of all the classic disney films that they are fixing to come out on the platinum 2-Disk special edition dvds? Just wondering. Thanks!

If it's any concellation (sp?), I know a list exists and I also just found out that 101 Dalmations was dropped from that list. They supposedly were to get the next Platinum edition, but some issues have occurred and they've pulled it from the list.

Once more details stream in I'll let ya guys know.

I know that the last time I was in the World of Disney store at Downtown Disney, I asked one of the CMs about a movie and when it would possibley be released next and she pulled out a sheet and said that it wasnt on the list for the next couple of years.

Go to this link http://www.ultimatedisney.com/releasetypes.htm > It will tell you about the Platinum Editions. It will show all the Platinum Editions that have been released as well as the Platinum Editions that Disney plans to release :)
I don't understand why Beauty and the Beast and Snow White are on that list twice. I thought Sleeping Beauty and Fantasia were both supposed to come out as Platinum editions, did that change?

I still believe that Sleeping Beauty and Fantasia will come out as Platinum editions ( I am not sure though ) , but when will they come out as this ? I think Snow White and Beauty and the Beast will come out again, because it said that 5 years after they came out at Platinum editions that they will come out again.

From ultimatedisney.com:

We've already managed to score some firm details and high-res cover art from the ninth plantium edition, Peter Pan: Platinum Edition. Disney's 1953 adaptation of J.M. Barrie's beloved children's tale will fly to DVD on March 6, 2007. The digitally restored film will be offered in 1.33:1 fullscreen (approximating the Academy Ratio it was created for) and your choice of an all-new 5.1 channel Disney Enhanced Home Theater Mix, the restored original theatrical soundtrack, or French and Spanish dubs. Among the announced bonus features are "In Walt's Words" (newly-discovered footage of the studio's namesake explaining why he made Peter Pan), the 1952 featurette The Peter Pan Story, "You Can Fly: The Making of Peter Pan", deleted songs, multi-level Camp Never Land set-top games, and a sneak peek of next August's direct-to-video CG-animated film Tinker Bell.
