Personally, I think that the queue should be something building up to the first scene. Themed somehow around time-period appropriate London and the Darling household. Basing it off of how the other queues are used (either properly or not, depending on your point of view) to set the scene for the ride, I would think that any sort of interactive or enhanced queue should try and pull you into the story more and more, get you in the frame of mind to suspend your disbelief more easily once the ride starts.
If money were no object and I were making it happen, the first part of the queue would somehow look like the streets of London. The second half, maybe post-FP merge, would be going through the Darling household, so when you board your flying ship and head into the Nursery, it all makes some form of long-form story. Except for the boarding the flying ship in the Darling household, maybe that part doesn't make a lot of sense. Hrm, maybe that's why I'm not an imagineer...

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Just more time wasters and touch screens.

When in reality they could just axe the Fastpass and have one continuously moving line, which would save a nice bit of the extra time, money and effort spent on making a flashy Playstation Queue....
Sounds like you just need to get a Fastpass.

So anything that is NOT in the nursery of the Darling children is unacceptable?

And technically, during the ride, you do move through the nursery ON a ship.
If story really is important, yes, it would make sense to not start off in Neverland before embarking on a journey to Neverland.

Well if that's the case then lets have the queue weave into the children's nursery with interactive elements, maybe have Tink buzzing around in the form of a light or something.

That makes sense.

Maybe what we're experiencing in the line are the imaginations of the children prior to their adventure? The boys do have a pretty elaborate pirate battle on their beds.
