Personal misting fans

That's nuts. And yet, having bought one in 2010 for $15.96 + tax (I still have the receipt for some reason), I would probably be nuts enough to buy another one just because they're fun. And like in 2010 I would regret it for the rest of the day because the weight of the full bottle hanging on my shoulder reduces the fun considerably. I remember trying to persuade my kids to carry it with moderate success.

I just got back from WDW yesterday and saw that they were $18 in the parks.

We bought the Walmart ones before our trip 2 years ago and brought them with again this time. Just slap a Mickey sticker on them and they become Disney cooling fans.

If they still have the mickey fans (battery operated and no misting) that clamp onto a stroller, bag, etc, those are very cool as well and they're very sturdy and about the same price.

We bought about 10 - 12 years ago. It still works...but it was a lot cheaper back then. We took that same mister / fan everywhere...zoo, six flags, Dollywood, Silver Dollar city...all when the girls were young and in stroller.

Now we take some smaller plastic fan mister from wal mart. We pretty much take that one to AK and only to MK if its going to be an open and close day and we know it will be hot, hot, hot.

The last time that we went in really hot weather I had brought a couple with us for the kids to use. DH and I ended up carrying them around everywhere because they were "too heavy" for the kids (a teenager and a pre-teen at the time). I swore never again, and gave them away to a family at the food court the morning we were leaving.

I found at my local grocery store a personal mister called Misty Mate - it is made by the same company that makes chill towels. You fill up the water reservoir, pump it (like those olive oil misters) and then spray a nice fine mist over your face, neck, arms, etc. I found it much easier to carry - those misting fan bottles get heavy - and no batteries to replace. They are available in several sizes - I have one that fits in my purse. You can stick them in your backpack and don't have to worry about leakage or the weight.

And unlike what Marni1971 pointed out, you don't spray everyone within 6 feet of you.

and we were at Farm and Fleet( its an upper midwest store chain) and they had Disney fans for less then $2 with candy inside of them.. I saw the same ones on Main Street for about $10 more.. no mist though.. but the one we brought with us worked extremely well. . We had a choice between Cinderella, the Little Mermaid, and some one else.. we bought the little Mermaid.. and laughed about it all 10 days on base.. it was a steal.. and trust me, i really enjoyed being sprayed by some one else.. when it was over 90 ( record highs ) for the week we were there.
