Permit filed for "Epcot Entrance Work"

The contracts to display the pictures were term limited. They'll probably wait till the last one is expired before they bother with demo. Even then, only when someone important convinces someone more important that its time to redecorate.

The permit did not indicate what was being worked on besides "Epcot Entrance". Being filed by the Buena Vista Construction Company, Disney's private construction force, they characteristically did not say exactly what they were doing, either. I'm not holding my breath for having the stones removed,, but at this point, with the vague nature of the permit, anything can be assumed.

yeah me too! Epcot needs a new sign for Epcot! those triangles of the Epcot entrance has to go! it's not good for Epcot's image!

Of course if this turns out to be replaciing manholle covers or demo'ing the kennel, the internet will lambast Disney for cheapening out.

There are some construction walls up at the east side of the entrance turnstile railing. I'm not sure if they have been there for a while or if they are part of this or not.

The fact that this thread was hijacked so easily should say something.

That cheap Disney. You could have totally hid the hundreds of thousands of dollars that you conned out of folks for...

Sorry, a thumbnail print on a misshapen tin sign.

Instead you flaunt it with pride.

Don't know which would be cheaper looking, eliminating the evidence, or pretending that it was a wise investment for guests.

I like the "hide the penny" game better for leaving a legacy myself.

This could also mean the Epcot parking toll entrance.

If it were to really remove the graveyard etc I cant see them doing this till January at the earliest. But kinda thinking those arent going anywhere yet. But then the hat at hollywood studios isnt either :(

Some investigative work has resulted in the following...

* The address on the permit is 1320 Avenue of the Stars. Bing puts this near Energy (on the east side of the main entrance).

* Using SeaCastle's database-o-addresses, I did a reverse lookup. 1320 AotS corresponds to EPCOT EAST GATE FACILITY.

* A search in the list of permits from the last year resulted in three permits. One from November 2009, one from June 2010, and one from August 2010. All filed by BVCC, so no drawings or descriptions.

While this doesn't really tell us much, it does bring up a question. Does anyone know what they mean when they refer to the "East Gate Facility"? They reference it often. Is the main entrance divided up into "East" and "West" gates? Or is there a CM entrance off to the east of the guest entrance, somewhere closer to Energy?

While I agree with Raven that the Kennel's days are numbered, it would seem to me like they'd use the Kennel's actual address and say "KENNEL" if that's what this permit were in reference to.

I'm guessing this will just end up being something insignificant like the last three, unfortunately. I don't remember any news flashes after those were filed.

East Gate Facility? Sounds like the Kennel. Meh.

If you look at a satellite map of EPCOT, directly east of the kennel, there is an entrance road that allows vehicle access to the backstage areas behind the east side of Future World.
