Can someone explain to me how the Pepper Market at CSR works again? I know there is a gratuity included and they seat you, I think. Any insight would help.

Pepper market is very similar to most quick serv locations but the only difference is that you will have a server. They will come up and give you directions, fill your resort mug or grab you other bottled beverages.

To get your food you just walk up to whatever station that has what you want. Then you give them the card your issued when you walk in, they stamp it then once your finished eating just go thru the registers near the back.

We always tip the server just at our table once we are finished. Hope that helps you out some :)

That is correct. Pepper market is kind of a food court table service hybrid. You will go to various stations and select your food and a waiter/waitress will get you drinks. There is a mandatory 10% gratuity added to your bill. From personal experience I would avoid it for breakfast. The prices are 20%-30% higher than the other food courts and the food is all but identical. Lunch and dinner however are pretty good. The prices are a little more in line with the other food courts and they have some really good menu items.

We enjoyed the Pepper Market. Nicer atmosphere, better selection and fresher food at dinner than other food court-type restaurants. I have to disagree about breakfast. My wife and I ate a light breakfast of two orders of toast, bacon, and two coffees for under $10. And it hadn't been sitting under a heat lamp dying out for the last 45 minutes. If you must go food court, this is a much better bet.

We need time for things to happen.
Pepper market is one of the better quick service choices out there regardingn unique choices, freshness and value even considering the gratuity. We enjoyed it.

Also, if you would like to get your food to go, just let the greeters know and they will give you a special "ToGo" card. You won't have to pay the gratuity and there are great places to sit outside! We sat outside quite a bit, just because it was so nice. Inside, you can get refills on drinks and the servers are very attentive!

When we go back to WDW we will want to stay at CSR again just because of the Pepper Market!

Ps. If you are on the dining plan, a WHOLE pizza is only 1 credit!:sohappy:

I didn't care for the pepper market, the food was ok. It is like a quick service but not, but is?? If I want a sit down and pay a tip of any kind I like to choose a true Table Service.

Prices are indeed higher at Pepper Market. Below are several examples of the basic breakfast platter at different food courts.

Pepper Market at CS
Scrambled Eggs, Potatoes, Bacon or Sausage - and choice of Biscuit or Muffin $9.50

Riverside mill at PORS
Breakfast Platter - with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, sausage and a biscuit $6.29

Mara at AKL
Adult Breakfast Platter - scrambled eggs, potatoes, biscuit and bacon $6.29

End Zone at All Star Sports
Adult breakfast platter - scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, biscuit, sausage and bacon $6.29

As you can see the exact same thing is 50% more at the Pepper market than the other food courts at other Disney resorts.

That is good to know. I love to eat outside so this would definately apply to me. One other question, if you buy the refillable mug, can you refill it? or do they have to refill it for you?

In Pepper Market they refill it for you. But there is a drink station between Pepper Market & the gift shop (Cafe Rix, I think it's called) where you can get refills for yourself.

Oops! I wasn't questioning your math, merely pointing out that if you don't want to take two buses or drive to another resort for a food court breakfast, you can get a nice little breakfast here. I will try to be more specific in the future.

It is not so much driving to another resort, just making people aware. It can be quite a sticker shock when a breakfast for your family of 5 that you are use to paying $45 for comes in around $75 for the exact same food.

Our upcoming trip will be our 1st stay at CSR, can someone tell me how the gratuity works on the dining plan @ Pepper Market? Will they still charge the 10% tip when we check out and then we just pay cash for it.....or do we leave cash at the table for our server?

Lunch and dinner options there are bigger portions and prepared to order in front of you in most cases so you're getting a little more out of it. I prefer it over any counter service as far as resorts go. I get the food to go to avoid the gratuity so theres a tip for you.

Pepper Market was wonderful for breakfast. We got our food "to go" and sat out by Lago Dorado every morning. We were on the dining plan and found we definitely got our money's worth. The pizza is not half bad at PM either..

I never quite got the concept, but i agree the food is very good. i ate there july'10 while i was at a conference at the hotel. the pizza was very good, as well as the service. the best advice i have is to keep track of your ticket and monitor what is added. had i not, i would have been charged for two pizzas! also make sure you get a table closest to the servers station for the best attention :)
