Well WDW does cater to the lower class nowadays. This is why there are lumberjacks in EPCOT and hordes of ECVs.
The prices certainly don't indicate that.

Sadly it isnt just Disney, its everywhere. People in general dont have the sense of responsibility and pride in their surroundings that they use to have. Disney used to be exceptionally clean and it was rare to see the smallest scrap of paper on the ground. Walt wanted his parks to be the exception to the dirty, trashy carnival parks that existed in his time and instead provide a clean environment guests could enjoy. Now the CM's responsible for picking up after the dirty masses are understaffed and overwhelmed. The guests treat Disney like they treat their home streets, throw refuse on the ground and let it be someone elses problem to worry about. Maybe Disney should have roving trash cops that fine litterbugs???
I don't think WDW is dirty. Actually immediately after all of the shows/fireworks/parades (anywhere a huge gathering of people are) I always see an army of janitorial people come clean up the garbage.

People leaving their trash on the ground isn't anything new. I remember driving through Yosemite in the 80s and people were parked all along the sides of the road having picnics and leaving their trash everywhere (holiday weekend). There's nothing they can do about it and raising prices isn't going to magically make people not leave trash on the ground. Disney's not going to have roving trash cops to police their customers that paid a fortune to go there on vacation, they know that people are going to be messy that's why they have a janitorial staff.

Ironically the only problem I have with WDW's clientele tends to come from upper-income people when they send big groups of teenagers (cheerleader events seem to be a big one). Now that is annoying!

WDW needs to hire this biker girl...

Yea...I don't think the out come would be the same if that video was based in America.... I know guys who would probably go to jail for manslaughter for someone throwing a ashtray in their bmw....
Though, I think it's a great video

The worst thing was when waiting for the boat to go back to POLY one night. There were so many water bottles that people had just tossed into the lake. It was quite sad actually!:arghh:

It's all perspective. For 2 people, I spent over $10k to go to Tokyo and another $8k to go to the Caymans for 5 days. Even New York will be quite expensive for dinners, shows, hotel, etc. Any of the 3 places I mentioned are expensive to fly, stay, eat, and entertain.

Disney is still a great value for all the entertainment at your fingertips. I can do Disney for under $5k for 8-9 days if I don't go all out on hotel.

Yes, but on the flip side we took a vacation to Aruba this past year in lieu of Disney and spend about 75% of what we would have for disney for an equal amount of time and food. Things are expensive in vacation spots, that does not make them bad people just capitalists and that is not a bad thing but I still have to maintain that it is large expense and that for that expense value for the dollar should be expected. Can you take more expensive vacations...yup. Can you do things on the cheap too..yup.

I never said that there were not more expensive trips, sporting events, or extravagances. But it is a large sum of money that many people do not come by easily IMO.

It's not nearly as bad as it is at Carowinds over here... I would definitely not visit Disney World if the majority of people who visit there are from South Carolina.. The entire resort would be destroyed. I'll take the snobby average tourist over the Six Flags rednecks any day! xP

There really is something about the average Six Flags tourist and their propensity for destruction...I have noticed this many times at SFOG.

No
Cleaning up after yourself when you've been eating out shows that you have manners.

Unfortunately, it seems more and more people do not have manners or respect other people enough to clean up after themselves.

Just a few weeks ago my wife and I were at the walk up cantina in Mexico. My wife went and got a table and I waited at the counter for our food. Guy behind me pays and looks at me and says, "can u believe that they don't deliver the food to you here?!!" What a joke. I have to carry my tray though all of these people?!!" I smiled at him and politely asked, "first time here?" He said, "no but we NEVER have to get our own food." ..... I just stated at him. This story had a happy ending though. The seating filled quickly and he couldn't find a seat. He was left standing at the napkin counter while we enjoyed out full meal. #karma
