Penny Coin Press Souvenirs?

Throughout WDW there are the Penny Coin Press souvenirs and I was wondering if anyone has made a compile of all the ones on site. I've decided that I want to get every single one, so I'm a man on a mission. However I have no idea where all of them are. I know there are several throughout all the parks and some in resorts. So if anyone knows of someone who has compiled a list of all the Penny Coin press, I would be interested in getting that information.

Seems like fun, I actually witnessed a mother and her child with rolls and rolls of pennies and quarters getting every single penny press there is. Seems like fun I wonder how much it costs to get all of them

They are $.51 each, and the quarter presses are $1.25. According to the list, there is a DIME one in Tommorrowland Light and Power, which I don't believe.

There are 3-4 designs per machine, and somewhere around 200 machines. About 40 of those are quarter machines.

So for pennies

160 x 3 = 480 designs x $0.51 = $244.80
160 x 4 = 640 designs x $0.51 = $326.40

And quarters
40 x 3 = 120 designs x $1.25 = $150
40 x 4 = 160 designs x $1.25 = $200

So at the low end, to get 3 designs from every machine, you're looking at $394.80 - there are machines with 4 designs, however, so it will be higher than this.

The max (if all machines had 4 designs, which they don't) would be $526.40.

Its not really that bad, as far as cost for a 'complete' collection, keeping in mind that they do change the designs and there are tons of 'retired' designs out there already.

But the number of coins is kind of ridiculous.

Minimum number of quarters needed = 960 (penny presses) + 600 (quarter presses) = 1560 quarters
Maximum number of quarters needed = 1280 (penny presses) + 800 (quarter presses) = 2080 quarters

Minimum number of pennies needed = 480
Maximum number of pennies needed = 640

So yes, you'd need from 2040-2720 coins. Good luck carrying those on the plane.

Just in weight, its 2.5 - 3.0 pounds of pennies, and 21 - 28 pounds of quarters.

My daughter likes to collect these also. We've been collecting them for years. We got lists from Guest Services, but I actually found a better list at www.pressedcoins.com . For my daughter, the hunt is half the fun and even though we get a bunch, it is still way cheaper than dropping a ton of money on other souvenirs. It takes awhile to spend $20 or $30 on pressed coins, but you could easily drop that much in a theme park store in 2 seconds flat. By the way, we haven't done any quarters yet, only pennies. Enjoy the hunt!

The big thing is the sets are scattered across every possible venue in the world. So too get the evil character series you would have to hit resorts, parks, water parks, dtd, the golf courses, and disneyquest. Not that I've really thought about it but... Have someone drop you off at pofq, walk to por, boat to dtd, $10 gets a kid to grab your pennies from inside disney quest (intheory), bus to bwi, walk to yacht, walk to bc, bus to mk, walk to cr, monorail through the resorts, terminate at mk, boat to ft wilderness, walk to wl, get picked up.
That still leaves out golf, espn, values, 2 moderates, and water parks. Also the 4 main parks. Also just the above list would take you all day if you moved at a good clip and the transportation gods smiled on you. But 2 days is more realistic considering a persons intake and removal needs.

allears.net also has a great listing sorted by location. I believe there are between 350-400 total designs and they are all over the place. I looked into it cuz I thought it would be great to get them all but.....

I don't want to have to carry $175-$200 worth of quarters and 400 pennies as well.

Well when you asked, I became curious. I didn't take into account any 'duplicate' designs (the same design at more than one machine) but I don't think there are many - if any - of those.

Edit: Looked at another list on the page I posted (here, actually), and it has these numbers:

186 Total Machines
454 Pennies
4 Dimes
70 Quarters
528 Total Designs

So my estimating was off, even though my guess to total machines was pretty close.

Heres the numbers:

Pennies - 454 Designs - $231.54 total - 454 Pennies - 908 Quarters
Dimes - no idea what these cost
Quarters - 70 Designs - $87.50 total - 350 Quarters

Total $319.04 - 454 Pennies - 1258 Quarters + the four dime machines

My kids got dime ones last month inthe MK but I can't recall where.
I want to say somewhere near Space Mtn but I'm not sure.

Right, Tomorrowland Light and Power is the arcade at the exit to Space Mountain. I just didn't think they had any dime ones on property, but according to the lists, the machine in there is a dime machine, and has 4 designs.

I don't plan on doing this on one trip, maybe over a couple. I just like the idea of having all the pennies. It is something I want to have with my sons, I never had something like this with my dad.

I made 40 pennies and 8 quarters on my honeymoon. I can't lay my hands on my collection from our anniversary trip.

TSA certainly checked my carry on though from all the coin rolls. I guess they looked strange on the x-ray?

I didn't search to make sure I hit every machine, but I made an effort to look for them. A caution though, not all of the machines will be working (or all of the designs per machine).

My suggestion is to put 2 zip tops in your bag if you're planning on doing this. Double bag the rolled coins because when you break the roll you'll have coins all over, and toss your smashed coins in the outside bag. This also helps if you break the inner bag that is holding all the rolled coins (I've had that happen twice).

The rolled quarters in your bag will be heavy! I usually carried 2 rolls of quarters and one roll of pennies and dimes (yes, there are dime machines too). By far the easiest machines to find were in Epcot and there are a TON of machines in a row right as you get off the monorail at the Contemporary.

I've been collecting these since my first trip when I was 4. I don't carry quarters and pennies specifically for them, though. Basically, whenever we see a machine, we (me and my parents) turn out our pockets for the quarters and a shiny penny. If we don't have quarters, I'll throw a $1 bill (sometimes a $5 if my purse is feeling light) into a change machine and use those. I have a list of all the ones I have so I can avoid duplicates, and I keep them in those little books you can buy now. Does anyone know if a new book has come out in the last year? I have 3 full books and will need to buy a new one this year, but I don't want another of the same design, and I have both that were available on my trip last year.
