Disney accepts partial payments, and so you can just keep paying it down. You just have to be sure pay the balance by the deadline in your reservation. Is there any way for us to plan our own trip and make payments against it versus having to pay it in one shot?
Oooh, thanks! Ok, total newbie question -- how do I get it set up? Thanks so much!
The Disney VISA is a mediocre rewards card. Even with the Premier version, you get 2% back on some categories but only 1% back on everything else and you can ONLY use the rewards at Disney. The Citi Double Cash card pays 2% on everything, and it's actual cash back, which you can use to buy whatever you want, including a Disney gift card. See also: BofA Cash Rewards (3% on gas), AAA Member Rewards (3% on travel), and American Express Blue Cash Preferred (6% on groceries). We have a Disney VISA that we use to buy Disney gift cards at Krogers (or other outlets ex. Target). We earn fuel points and also Disney points on credit card. Use the gift cards to pay down on the MDE and then use Disney Rewards Card on the trip.

If it works for you, cheers. But it's a poor product to recommend to others.
Good card if you like to use one card for everything. I think you can cobble together the same benefits with no annual fee if you're willing to use a different card depending on the category.I’m going to add the Citi ThankYou Premier to this list.
