Paying my last respects to Space Mountain

Imagine if they raised Space Mountain's roof to fit in a structure like Kingda Ka! :lol:

OMG! could you see that from space?

Plus the kingda ka is pretty lame (imo), just goes really fast up and down, no different then going 135 on a crotch rocket. The best part of SM was the hard twists leading you to believe you were gonna fly off the track and leaving you hobbling to the chriopractor (sp).

What about space mountain, at 128mph, with it's current track

Would anyone ride with me? I'ma grab 1st seat 1st rocket, feel free to join...

Last Time I Rode the Old Space Mountain

Oh yeah, I was in the MK last December and rode the old Space Mountain for the final time. (I had a party that day with family.)That was one of my Christmas wishes, to relish the last bit of the old prototype before a lengthy refurbishment.

Anyway, I arrived at the Magic Kingdom at about 10 o'clock Saturday morning and was expecting to see the line for SM to be full of people saying their farewells but I was shocked that no one was in line and I literally walked right on. When i came back around 12:30, it was a lil more full, but at most a 20 minute wait. I think the lines stayed pretty slim for the whole day

According to Screamscape today Cast Members have been told that Space Mountain will be closing on April 19th and reopening on November 22nd while the TTA will be reopening on August 25th.

At least I will catch the TTA when we are at WDW Aug 17 - Aug 27. What a shame I will have to go back for SM. I'll just have to make that sacrifice
