Indeed it was.:lol:

For second place ties, I just went from the top of the poll to the bottom and placed them 2nd and 3rd. For third place ties I typed two people in the same slot, because there is no fourth place.

Sooner or later I plan on editing the list to have a link to each contest, and the contest's voting, so everyone can see exactly how things went.

It's really interesting to read the comments of old contests and see how things have progressed. I have to give credit to Dis Josh for the original idea of contests at all.



HISTORY OF THE WDW MAGIC DIGITAL MEDIA CONTEST

Back in late 2001, Dis Josh started a thread with an idea that all should be able to display and share their artwork with others. "We could have contests. Just for fun, though," he said. He started one, but it didn't pan out. Then, later, Now Inc expanded the idea to wallpaper contests in early to mid 2002. The contests were a huge hit. Now Inc continued with his masterful leadership of each and every contest up until #7, when a new pilot was given the controls, Main Street USA. Main Street brought along the idea of attraction poster contests, which resulted in three fantastic new challenges.

In early 2003, however, the contests began to slide. Interest was down, and so were the number of participants. At one point, WDW Magic saw as little as three entries in a single contest.

Times were tough, but the contests would once again come alive with a fury, with the implimentation of Topic Polls, new prizes, and even better images than before.

All of this brought us to the current time, where we sit at the beginning of contest #19, waiting for yet another exiting round of entires, and another thrilling cycle of voting.

Here's to the WDW Magic Digital Media Contests. May they continue to grow along with us, as the years pass by.

Everytime Jer or I say "Zac always wins" He's just gonna link us to this thread and say "TOLD YA SO!"

(Zac...just remember...I'm always one step ahead of you!!! MUAHAHHAHAHHAHAH) :lol:

LOL! I don't have any of these saved with names anymore on my computer, and because that was an anonymous contest, I had no way of knowing what was what except for memory! Sorry!:lol:

We'll get it all straightened out soon enough!:)



Also, Gregory, thanks so much for taking the time to set up all of those links. That totally rocks. I've been swamped with "real world" work lately, graphics and other, and have had little time to update the list. If you can find the time to finish linking the rest, I'll copy all of your post up into the first post of the thread. In the mean time, if I get a spare minute, I'll edit your post and take care of a few as well.

Also, no problem MSU- I figured I mind as well help :) If you need help with anything else, I'd love to help...

I'm planning on doing about five a day, as I have a lot I'm working on for my sites' opening, too...

Its pretty cool looking at all the old posters... I think after this, we should take the 20 winning wallpapers, and find the #1 wallpaper... :)

Also, I was planning on creating a rankings of the top-ten top-three contestants. Just to see who are the top winners :)

I'd like to hear some of these!

I remember a while back I suggested that we could do a contest where we all think of some sort of attraction that hasn't been built yet, or one that has been rumored for a long time, or just something we all make up ourselves and we all make our own concept designs for these un-built attractions.

I'll try to get links to all the wallpapers done sometime... But, I have a lot going on with trying to cover the whole Eisner thing...

One thing I noticed is that for Wallpaper contest 21, I was credited as Gregory2...
