COULD A PERSON STAYING AT THE ALL-STARS RESORTS PARK AT THE CONTEMPORARY RESORT AND THEN RIDE THE MONORAIL TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM. JUST CURIOUS

The past couple of times we stayed at the Poly, we thought twice about leaving the resort with our vehicle. Otherwise we would have had to park in BFE and it's a pain to try to unload and reload parked so far away. Knowing folks use the parking lot as a way to get around the system kinda steams me:(

To clear a fact with you, WDW only tows cars when a lot becomes full. That isn't gonna happen at the Poly, their lot is too big. And CMs that we know there just say, Go ahead and park there. No one really cares. :) Maybe we're just special. lol.

Here is what you can do. Park your car at the All Star Resort. Then take the Disney Buses to the Magic Kingdom. Then Take the monorail from the magic kingdom to the contemporary, for free. :)

Listen they do tow cars, not only when the lot is full, you just never know when. It is unfair to people like Debbie and gepetto who pay to stay at the resort and have to park far away. It is an unfair thing to do, so don't do it. Now I have to come clean and admit that I to have parked at another resort for longer then 3 hours, but after I saw that it was wrong to take a spot of a guest at that resort I stopped doing it. So all I am saying is don't do it for longer then 3 hours unless you are eating there and stay to see the fireworks on the beach, that I can understand, but to do it to avoid paying for parking or to take the resort monorail is wrong. If you want, just park at the TTC and take the path to the Polynesian.

OK--I'm seeing 2 issues here.

1) People want to ride the monorail

2) People want to park at the resorts.

1) Anyone can ride the monorail. We ride it just to be riding it. We take the circle to the resorts, and we ride it to Epcot (round trip). In fact, that loop the monorail makes around Future World is one of my favorite parts of the trip (perfect thing for arrival day when we're not going to the parks).

You don't need to risk being towed or being inconsiderate to ride the monorail. Take your resort bus to MK, then ride the monorail until you're ready to get off.

2) Please just follow the rules. If you are a resort guest, you can park for free. If you are not, you can move your car to other parks without paying another $6. I love Disney transportation, because I do not enjoy fighting traffic, trying to find my way around an unfamiliar place, or getting into a blazing hot car at the end of the day.

I just told you they don't tow cars, but fine. I guess you know something I don't. LOL. #1 I have an Annual Pass. I don't pay for parking anywhere! (Except Valet hee hee) :) #2 We're invited to park there by more then 50% of the hotel staff. #3 since there is ample parking at the poly, it's ok. #4 We park in the 30min. spots at night. CMs in parking have always told us it's okay to park there after dusk. And since we really only go to the parks after dusk, you can understand why we don't take up Poly guests parking. :)

I had not realized parking was so tight at the Contemp. Persoanlly, we were thining of driving over for the breakfast rather than figuring out how to get a resort bus for an early morning PS--and I didn't want the hassel of moving the car with two young kids. Generally speaking, we don't drive anywhere on Disney property--it's so much nicer just to let Disney transportation handle all of the hassels for you. I wasn't trying to find out how to break the rules--justs wanted to know what they were to begin with. And, I encourage everyone else to follow them too. Of course, the resort guests should have first dibs on parking at their own resort.

See you did not say it was after dusk. That I can understand because most guests are there by then. I to have an Annual Pass and I love it because of the lounges and the free parking when we stay with friends in FL. I said they tow cars, you just never know when, and true they wont check every car but I still won't run the risk. Also, it is ok to park at a resort after dusk, most of the time they won't even give you a pass after dusk and will just let you go right in.

What I would recommend is parking in the MK parking lot as if you were headed to the MK... then boarding the Resort Monorail to the Contemporary... (Parking and Monorails start at 7:00am). When finished with your breakfast, you can either walk to the MK or take the Monorails once again. :)

Now, if you're a Disney Resort Guest... busses for breakfasts will start running at 7:00 am... For the Contemporary, you'd want the MK Character Breakfast bus... depending on the time, they will either drop you off at the TTC, or MK... or if the driver is able to, sometimes they'll be able to take you directly to the resort itself... (sometimes thier route & time schedule doesn't allow...)

Whether or not Disney does tow cars (and they do, full or not), it's simply not fair to take a parking space away from one of the paying resort guests. As for no one cares... by the replies, I think people do care... especially those spending $300+ a night for the Polynesian.

There has been some very good sugestions on this thread for people who are staying at WDW but not at a monorail line resort and would like to travel on it. IMO it is not only people taking up parking spots but loading down the monrails to the resorts at the end of the day. When staying at Poly we had to wait one hour to get on the monorail to get back to our resort it was so congested. While talking with others also waiting, no one else was staying or eating at Poly, but mearly parking there. How unfair is that? They should of been taking the express monorail to TTC not the resort line. It is in everyones best interest to please park where you stay and use the transportation as WDW disigned it!!!!!!!!!

Thank you, I have been telling them WDW does tow cars even when the lot is full or not. As I was saying it is unfair.
