No thats stupid I like Welcome aboard it reminds me of the Disney spirt.
Well if it makes you feel any better it says "Hello Everyone, Welcome aboard." So he does still say welcome aboard.

I just want to point out that this new spiel is only on a couple of trams.

"We're coming up on Goofy lot - gather all your, etc." They may say more now - I haven't ridden in years. I miss them.
It had been many years since we rode one too. So, we drove over to the AK parking lot one day and took the Tram just for old times sake.

You know Woody...I am really tempted to do that at the MK - because it was the lot we ALWAYS parked in.

And to the others, you can tell it's been a LONG while since I've ridden. The last time I rode, the CM hanging off the back did ALL of the talking.

For the most part they still do. In fact many times they never even push the button to play the recorded safety spiel.

See...that's what's so great about the Trams that i miss. I remember ages ago in the mid-80's i would be riding around in the PL of EPCOT on the Tram and the CM spieled from the back as if we were on the Jungle Cruise. It was awesome and a lot of fun!

When i was at AK a few days ago, i saw the sleek modern Trams they have and all these memories from the past came back to me. Man, i should have gotten on and had a ride just for the heck of it.

Anyone here actually do this? I know there are several here that ride the Monorails just for fun without even going into the Parks.....( Yeah, ill admit i'm a proud "Monorail Junkie"...lol) but what about Tram-Junkies?

WOW, when did they start to introduce new spiels on some of the Trams and do you know what route trams they have started to do this on. E.G. MK or DMGM etc. Has any one got a recording of it?

And for old times sake:
"Welcome aboard, for your childrens safety please seat them towards the inside, for your safety do not stand or try to exit the tram while it's in motion. If you loose something from the tram please wait til our next stop, then notify the operator, Thank You"

Then the Spanish version, can anyone help me with this I would love to learn that.

Every time we are at WDW I ride the monorails hehe it's like a ride in it's own right. I love doing that, the tram we ride when parking in the parking lots most times but to be honest have never just stayed on them and gone round and round.

So far I have seen the new spiel at both AK and MGM. However I think it may have been the same tram both times. You see the tram with the new spiel also has new speakers installed on the side that send the sound out towards those waiting behind the poles. I first saw this tram at AK However it then dissapeared and AK no longer had this tram. Then what I can only assume was the same tram popped up at MGM. It had the same speakers and the new spiel. However now for the past month I have not seen this tram at any of the parks. I make a point of looking at all the operating and parked trams when I visit the parks in an attempt to find it again. I think the new speaker arrangement as well as the new spiel was part of a test and that is why it was only done on one tram. Maybe now they are working on installing the setup on more of the trams.

Well yes, most folks ride the Monorails when visiting the Parks....but i'm talking about the serious "Monorail Junkies" who just stop by and ride the beams round' and round' just for the fun of it. Not going anywhere in particular, just riding for the fun of it.

If you stay on Property, anyone can do this. It's a fun way to kill some time and get a WDW tease. Earlier this week i was down there for 3 days and on the 1st day i arrived later then usual. I did'nt bother investing in a 3 day pass as i planned on doing some other activites the 1st day and then hit MK and EC on the other days. I could'nt help myself though...and ended up going to ride the monorails for a hour or so. It was nice, and a fun way to get a teaser as to the delights coming in the next few days. Yeah i know...i'm a freak! :p

Now "Tramming"...hmm...this is something i will have to keep in mind for next trip. I miss them!

Years ago, we were returning to our car via the tram. The CM announced, "When you get back to your car, if you discover that you have locked your keys inside, don't worry. Just notify the next tram operator that you see. We will notify Disney Security and they will be happy to put down their coffee, donuts and newspapers and get someone else to provide you assistance." :D

I don't care about the nose on the Trams because I would rather deal with the nose then have to walk from the parking lot to the main gate. So the nose is worth the saved time & energy.
