Parking Fees Question

Staying off site this trip and will be in the park multiple days. I prefer to park once and hop with WDW transport - without kids and strollers it seems to be faster for me.

My question is this - I have a few days where I'd like to valet park at the Poly in the morning for breakfast - Tonga Toast! Shoot over to MK for an hour or so and then move the car to DHS or AK.

If I pay for valet - does that fee carry over to the other parks as well? Or do I need to park in the TTC lot for that to work?

Once you pay the valet at the Poly you can leave and go valet at any other resort all day that same day and not have to pay again. I think that might be what you were thinking of. Like CaptainShorty and Hakuna said, if you went to a park parking lot you'd have to pay the lot fee there. If you moved from one park to another park with your car you wouldn't pay again within that same day, tho.

Leave your car at the poly and take the bus to the park of your choice. Get your car at the end of the day .

Technically, if you're not staying at the resort, you will have a limited time window, and your car may be towed if you exceed the allotted time. In actuality, it's a crap shoot that is dependent upon how much they need the space. But, it has happened.

So do this at your own risk. ;)

Thanks all! Think we will just use the TTC lot and walk or use the resort monorail to the poly unless we are staying within MK and Epcot for the day.

This helps with planning.

I believe it's now $12, plus a $2 tip is strongly advised. So the same as TTC parking, but a bit closer.

I suspect the price this little perk will either be increased (once upon a time it was free for hotel guests - you just tipped), or the valet parking will have a time limit for non-hotel guests in the future. I thought that was already the case, but apparently was mistaken - but I might be presentient. ;)

How much does it cost to "Valet Park" at a resort ????
I thought it was "tip"

Yep, The Mom is right. Currently it's $12/day. On our recent trip we valet'd our car every day. If you have TiW and eat a meal at a resort you valet at then you can show your receipt at that resort before you leave and have the complimentary valet for the day. We had the daily charge taken back off our folio several times doing that. I will say, you do need to watch your folio carefully when moving the car from valet to valet at different resorts within the same day. At least 3 times we caught where 2 different resorts charged the $12 to our room for the same day. This was quickly corrected when we pointed it out. Had we never looked we wouldn't have known.

If you are not a resort guest at the resort where you paid to valet park, you shouldn't be leaving your car there all day. You should only be parking there if you have dining ressies, etc at the specific property.

At the present time, it appears that it is allowed to leave your car all day if you have a dining reservation and pay to valet park - even if you are not a guest at the hotel. It isn't really saving you any money (unless you don't tip) but saves you having to find your car at the end of the day, and gives you an alternate (the smaller resort launches) to get back to your car at the end of the day, rather than heading to the TTC.

As I mentioned, it might change in the future as more people learn about this loophole, and the lots become too crowded for guests actually staying at a resort to park there.

If it were me I would just go to the TTC especially if you plan on moving your car to another park later in the day. The only time savings would be if you planned to stay at MK all day then it would be easier to get back to your car at the Poly.

I know a lot of people are parking at hotels for free, cutting through to the Parks and/or simply using that hotels bus system. I'm guilty of parking at the hotels too many times to count and walking over to a park entrance. Yeah, I know its wrong and not matter what reasoning I have doesn't escape that fact. But I've easily spent $50K out of pocket at WDW when you consider the amounts of trips I've taken there. Not a valid excuse, but somehow I justify it in my head. ;)

Now think if you are the person currently paying +$500 per night and pull in to find the only open parking spaces are in the farthest points of the parking lot, or worse yet you cannot find one. All because other people did not want to pay the $14.00 to park in the designated theme park lots. I have been one of those people looking for a spot at the Wilderness Lodge and ended up at Valet parking. So it cost me $14.00 to park.

I'm sure that happens alot with the DTD lot. We have stayed at SSR and walked over to have breakfast at Wolfgang Pucks Express and then taken a bus to the Contemporary in the morning to get to MK and had the bus nearly full? How many people really go from the Contemporary to DTD @ 10:00 in the monring and are heading back to the resort? :brick:

If it makes you feel any better, I park as far as I can away from the hotel entrance. Its a combination of not wanting to put the squeeze on actual paying guests and most importantly, not arouse suspicion to what I'm doing. :goodnevil

You are able to leave your car there all day, that's what you pay for. You can also take your car to another resort that has valet and park there too. The valet parking is good for all day, as is the theme park parking.

I did this a couple years ago, when I had breakfast ressies at Chef Mickey's. Just left my car there until the evening...no problems...
