Parking discount at the parks?

We are finally going back to WDW in May - for 3 weeks! :D
I was wondering if there is any type of 'longer-stay-discount' for the parking fee at the parks - or do you have to pay the full price everytime you go?

Sooo looking forward to it... :slurp:

two options present themselves immediately for me
1) Buy an Annual Pass, this gives free parking at all of the Theme parks. Also only one person in your party needs to have this to qualify, although if you are going for 3 weeks and are going to be in Disney a lot it might be worth it!!
2) Are you staying at a Disney resort? If so, your parking pass for your resort allows you free parking at the theme parks.
Hope this helps! Belle

If you stay on property parking is free not to mention you can use Disney transportation so you don’t need to drive at all. If you are staying off property the only way to legitimate way to park for free is to have a AP. Otherwise is costs $8 per day to park. Once you have paid the $8 you can go from park to park without paying again. Sometimes if you arrive at a park near closing they will let you park for free but this seems to be at the parking attendant’s discretion. Some will park at DTD take a bus to a resort and then a bus to the parks but this can take an hour or more to do so it is not really saving you anything.

Hi,
Thanks for your tips! No, we are not staying in a WDW resort, that would be too expensive for three weeks - although I would love to stay at the Polynesian again (been there back in 1981, 82 and 87 :-). We also can't take the annual pass as we have a special offer via our travel agency which is really good value.
So we will probably have to go for the 7$ per day - do you mean I can go from park to park via Disney transportation (which we've also done bevore) or can I enter the Epcot parking lot with my MK parking pass from earlier that day?

Thanks again!

As long as you keep your parking pass, you can park at any of the parks for free for the day. My suggestion would be park once and use WDW Transportation whenever possible, I think that would be the quickest way and it would save alot of wear and tear on your nerves. Three weeks at WDW!
Have fun!

Thanks great to know, thanks! We will normally avoid that of course, but if we are on the pool after lunch at the hotel and want to go watch Fantasmic I wouldn't want to pay for the parking again if we were at MK earlier that day.
And thanks, we will have a lot of fun - hopfully NASA will manage to bring up Discovery in May as planned - I would love to see a launch again.

One word of caution about off site hotels. Check them out before it is too late to cancel and rebook. There are some really nice off site hotels and there are some total dumps that capitalize on there proximity to Disney. You might want to post a thread about the place you are staying and see what the general public thinks about it. I hate to hear about Disney vacations ruined by a bad off site hotel.

Thanks for the warning - we are staying at the Marriott Springhill Suites hotel. We've stayed there a few times before and it is really ok... not as special as a Disney resort of course, but affordable for 3 weeks, and its only a short drive to WDW. :)

Glad to hear it. I’ve gotten suckered into some “great deals” on rooms that were really horrible.

Oh, thats bad... I hope WDW was able to keep you happy though. :)

We've been like 12 times to WDW already so we're something like veterans, but I always feel like a little boy again when I get there... oh, the magic.

I am not sure what kind of pass you have via your travel agent but once you are at Disney you may be able to upgrade to an Annual Pass. I would check with Guest Relations if you are interested!!! Have a great time!!! Belle

If you are talking about the Marriott Springhill in the Marriott Village off Rte. 535, it is a nice hotel. There are also a few restaurants in walking distance from the hotel, Bahama Breeze which I understand is very good and Lone Star Steak house which is good and we go to it here in NY once in a while. The Golden Corral is a buffet place and I wasn't overly thrilled with it, but for breakfast it's not bad. Also, although I really like the California Grill restaurant, I find the noise level to be horrible there. Yachtman Steak House is great and would probably cost about $50pp (w/o liquor) and you can see Epcot's fireworks from the dock. I agree that Ohana's is very good, fun and less costly than California Grill and Yachtman, plus you would have a nice view of Wishes.
