Parking at Resorts

If we are planning to visit and possibly dine at one of the Disney Resorts, is there a fee for parking? We are not staying on site this visit, but will be visiting the Disney parks that day.

You can not park at the resorts in order to use disney transportation to the parks. And depending on time of year and events going on, you may be turned away from parking at the resort. If you have a dining reservation, you can usually park, but we have been turned away from Boardwalk even WITH a dining reservation.

Not old, just vintage.
If you are having dinner at a resort (especially with an ADR) there is little reason for them to turn you away. Unless it is a major holiday they are pretty accommodating. Of course, you aren't supposed to park, eat, and then go to a park but people do it all the time. :lookaroun

Have you thought about parking at the theme park you're planning visiting that day, using Disney transportation to visit the resort, then use transportation to then go pack to the park du jour until closing? This way, your car is where you originally left it when you arrived.

As long as you have a reservation they should not turn you away. Only time you would really have to worry about that is during major holidays. They also do not charge you to park at the resorts either.

Keep in mind, while you can park at a resort when you're not a resort guest for a short period of time, they will NOT allow you to park there all day. If you plan on going to a theme park, you WILL need to move your car to one of the park lots.

There may be other hotels or resorts that have mandatory resort fees. Almost all resort fees include parking. Verify the information with any hotel or resort before making reservations.

None of the Disney owned resorts in WDW charge for parking, nor do they charge resort fees. A few of the resorts on Hotel Plaza Blvd will charge for parking as does the Swan and Dolphin at Epcot but aside from the Swan and Dolphin no one would really have any need to go to one of the resorts on Hotel Plaza Blvd unless they were staying there.

WDW encourages people to come and look at their resorts and to dine and shop there as well. You will be stopped at the gate and asked what your intentions are so just tell them you are dining there (ADR's are very helpful) and they may ask for ID. You can valet park for a fee or self park and hike back up to the hotel. You may or may not be given a temp parking pass with a time limit, just leave this on the dash.

You park admission allows you to use WDW transportation so why not use that from the parks to go to the hotel?

I hope they have counter service at Animal Kingdom... because the sit down places were not appealing to the two 10 year olds I am traveling with. I was hoping to stop in there early one evening. check out the decorations, eat a quick kid friendly bite before we head back to our hotel.....

The do have a counter service restaurant called Mara. Here is a link to the menus. Just a quick FYI every Disney resort will have a counter service restaurant.
