Park opening fastpass question?

If I am at a park at rope drop and run and get a FP for an attraction, what will the return time be? Say I get one for Toy Story Mania at 9:05 and the park opens at 9, will it just be for 10:05-11:05? Thanks

Not necessarily, it could even be for 5 minutes in the future, say 9:10.

It take a little bit for the fastpass return time to build up.

I have been the first person to get a FP out of a machine at TSMM 2 times. The return time both times was 9:30.

One time, after my first ride (standby) I had 7 minutes until my FP window opened. I stood around and waited for the sign to say 9:30, when it did I immediately went to the CM. She said something to the extent of "Already! *looks at sign* You're good."

I don't know if 9:30 is always the first return time, but I think it is right around that.

I don't know the official policies, but in my own experiences I've never seen a FastPass machine giving out tickets for less than 40 minutes away from the current time. (Obviously times may have been tweaked since then, or TSMM's machines operate under slightly different rules)

On a very slow day once, I sat and watched the Jungle Cruise FP times advance in real time, even though noone was getting passes, and it kept that 40-minute spacing.

Just after New Year (Jan 2nd) we hit DHS at 0820 - EMH had started at 8am, Stand by for Toy Story Mania was 90 minutes and the line to get FP was over 200 yards long. Return times were for after mid-day !!!

Sorry man, but it was 30 minutes at TSMM this past December when I was down. However, I agree that it probably has to do with popularity and capacity of the attraction.

I wonder if it has something to do with expected crowd levels. Two years ago when we went during slow mid December, I would go to Fantasyland and get return times a half hour later or less. We just went on January 2nd this year and we were one of the first ones to get a fastpass and the return time was two hours later. Three days later on the 5th when crowds were a little less, the return times were only an hour out first thing in the morning. I always thought it had to do with how many fastpasses had been gotten already but I think that is only part of the formula.

Why wouldn't you just get on the ride then? And then get a FP when you get off for a little later?

A better plan might be to get a FP, get in the Standby line immediately after, and then ride it twice in a row. We'll do this with Soarin' a lot.

We do the same thing. What I did for TSMM is I took off in a mad dash at rope drop by myself with our tickets to get the fastpass since I am quicker at darting through the crowds. After I got them we all got in line to ride and had enough time to go ride ToT (standby) before coming back to ride it again then we fastpassed it again after riding. :D

Toy Story Mania will be crazy for awhile. We had my sister do that mad dash at rope drop. By the time we had made it over there she still wasn't at the front of the Fast Pass Machine line. Our pass return times were not until mid-afternoon. Most other things first thing in the morning your return time will be in about an hour.
