So you walked from POP to AOA around 7:15 for a 7:30 bus? Do you think that’s the first bus? Where did this put you for the 8:30 rope drop? Where did you go first? Debating whether to hustle to ARRC, Or Falcon.HS rope drop at 8:30 sharp
You are grossly oversimplifying this. If you showed up at park open in the last 11 months, you showed up to long lines. The parks have official posted opening times. Those are the times they open. If it’s ready sooner or rope drop happens sooner, it’s a pleasant surprise or perk.
If they’re still not opening the parking lot early, then you’d have to have uber/lyft drop you off at speedway and then walk from there if you want to get there early. So you walked from POP to AOA around 7:15 for a 7:30 bus? is Uber ever an option? Sorry for all the questions but you are a great resource!
Thanks in advance.

That’s great info to have and brings up another question. Would the same apply to MK? I know the back way to MK from PO runs past Fort Wilderness and brings you out inside the MK booth/gate where you’d make a right to get to the MK main entrance. Would anything prohibit the Uber driver from dropping us near the entrance? If they’re still not opening the parking lot early, then you’d have to have uber/lyft drop you off at speedway and then walk from there if you want to get there early.

That was never meant to be a perk though, it was to stop crowds from forming at park entryYou are grossly oversimplifying this. If you showed up at park open in the last 11 months, you showed up to long lines.
True, but it has been the case for years that the parks rope drop time is before their official start time at AK, HS, and Epcot. That was never meant to be a perk though, it was to stop crowds from forming at park entry

People still deserve information. That was never meant to be a perk though, it was to stop crowds from forming at park entry
That’s ultimately it. Disney can do what they want, but they should have a system and consistently do it. It shouldn’t change from day to day.People still deserve information.
It rarely changes from day to day. That’s ultimately it. Disney can do what they want, but they should have a system and consistently do it. It shouldn’t change from day to day.
7:30 was the first bus...they will try to tell you the first bus will be there at 8, do not listen to them...i was first on slinky all 3 days i rope dropped, i was about 10 people back at security and just hustled from there..i have never used uberSo you walked from POP to AOA around 7:15 for a 7:30 bus? That's the thing. The official posted opening times aren't (or usually aren't) the times the parks open. The parks have official posted opening times. Those are the times they open. If it’s ready sooner or rope drop happens sooner, it’s a pleasant surprise or perk.
There actually are reasons why Disney opens some parks earlier than posted opening time. And publishing these variations from the posted times would be counter productive. The variation generally is consistent however. For example for the past several months MK has had a published opening time of 8am but the park has generally opened at 7:15 with some attractions (the same ones daily) opening at 7:30. This has been generally consistent until the recent change that will now be the new daily schedule. That's the thing. There's no reason Disney couldn't be consistent about this if they wanted to, but like so many of their policies and actions of late, they don't really care what guests think. We're clearly going to keep coming regardless.
There may be reasons, but it's a negative for guest satisfaction. The uninformed get to the park 30 minutes "early" only to find that the park is already open and there's already a wait for major attractions because Disney purposefully obfuscates the opening times. There actually are reasons why Disney opens some parks earlier than posted opening time.
