Park Icons.

Yeah, I don't get the hat hate. I suppose it's purists who went to HS in its early years who were so accustomed to seeing an unobstructed view of the Graumann's Chinese Theater replica when you first enter the park. With the hat, it blocked that view. The Earful Tower was supposedly a representation of what the water towers were at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. So replacing it with a hat that doesn't really serve a purpose beside offering pins, seems like a waste in some eyes, I would think. I really don't know where can you put the hat to move it. There isn't much space for it.

I would move the hat outside the park by the friendship boats. I like the hat itself, but I've seen pictures of pre-hat HS (Way too young to have remembered it LOL) and it looked so much better imo. I think the other icons are perfect though.

The reason that you don't see the Tree of Life as soon as you enter the park is because the beginning with all of the curving paths, Disney is trying to make you feel like you're getting "lost" and entering a totally different world.

To answer your question, remove the BAH since it's tacky and cheap looking, and make the Chinese Theater the icon. I haven't even seen DHS in person without the hat and I know it looks awful.

Castle is my favorite. And I really don't mind the hat, I just wish it was in a different spot. I miss the days when you could walk down Hollywood Blvd and see the Chinese Theater, it just felt more Hollywoodish.

.

My favorite part of Animal Kingdom is making it through the path and then that moment when the path opens and The Tree of Life is there to greet you, but I never knew there was an actual story behind it. I love the tree exactly where it is!!!

Put the hat on top of the earful tower and a host of oversized AA animals on the entrance to AK to imerse you in the wonder of life. Not like we don't have a pot of money to throw at this

Nothing can ever beat the castle as far as icons go. The tree of life and Spaceship earth aren't "Disney" themed really. I kind of like that. They aren't cheesy and are great pieces of art and nice to look at. Although the castle is Cinderella's castle it is still amazing and has come to represent so much more. The hat is just part of mickeys wardrobe in a cartoon. It doesn't stand for anything more and leaves a lot to be desired. No awe, no imagination. Just a hat no different than if it were Donald's sailor hat. I'd like to see another imaginative piece that lends itself more than to just a cartoon prop
