News Park attendance showing significant softness heading into the Fall 2018

So how might the (rumored) new pricing structure play out with all the news being reported in this thread? It makes no sense that on the heels of lower attendance they would throw gas on the fire with a significant price increase and/or major ticket pricing structure change that will make trips even more complicated.

We went in 2015 and 2016 and since then, I keep trying but haven't been able to afford the type of trip we would want to take (7+ days at a value resort). I know it's anecdotal, but maybe we aren't alone.

You aren’t alone...and you’re actually what all these discussions boil down to: have they exceeded prices that allow enough of a clientele to travel?

That’s what they have tinkered with and most of us wonder?

As far as would they increase prices? Sadly...they would and may.

The problem is that they make promises About rich new profits to their stockholders and brokers behind the scene...

The only way to deliver more people at higher prices...I don’t know where they think they’re gonna find them. But I’m beginning to think it’s out of the sky.

Do some posters here post the breakdown for each resort? I do know attendance was up at WDW. And this quarter had TSL. So not seeing any doom. Or gloom.

Well do you want to talk about the spring/summer period (you just mentioned)? Or now?

The point I was making is that someone said Shanghai was “good for Disney”...
Not true for the parks and resorts numbers...becusee they don’t own it...technically.

They still have a stake in it even though the China owns the majority of it.

I guess my point is, TDO has never been better. Especially the CMs.

But it doesn’t makeup the parks and resorts segment...which has been called upon to make up for the declining television segment for 7 years....

It’s more like an elaborate licensing deal...
Not bad...but not the same.

You speak English but in an unrecognizable dialect. Therefore I have decided to place you on ignoble. Good day.

You can ignore me (which means you won’t read this...pity)

But Claiming things have never been better for Disney or the Employees is a wild claim that can’t be substantiated.

A stock price is one thing...rating employee satisfaction or quality is totally different. Disney employee happiness eclined greatly starting in the mid 90’s in Orlando and is likely never to recover. A $15 wage adjusted for inflation in 3 years will solve that?

You seem like yet another “millennial economist”...which goes hand in hand with lacking experience and wisdom around here. Too bad you’ll never read this...oh well 😪

Apparently so good you power through the “ignore” function.

Now I can speak plain: you know damn well that Disney employees are not “best” nor “happiest” now...hence my punning.

That was handled long ago with expansion of the labor pool and a streamlining of quality and experience in the greater economic framework for “service” jobs.

I believe you to know better. I won’t debate you on health of the quarterlies...but employees are way different.

I did that because I don't understand Trekkie. May the force be with you.

Yes — true at times years ago — but never wknd only unless I blocked that out — right?

From now through the new year HEA is part time due to the parties. After New Years it doesn’t show when the park closes at 8, which is several dates in January and February. I could see them closing DHS and AK much earlier during these months to eliminate the need for ROL and F! Make them “indirect” cuts.
