Parade incident in TOKYO - any ramifications here?

Ever since I first saw video of that parade, I always wondered how the heck that float managed to be structurally sound. Looks like it wasn't designed well after all. Or, perhaps we're looking at a case here of Pressler's DL 2.0 being repeated in Tokyo. Who knows....time will tell, if and when they release the investigation's findings.

It was going to collapse anyway, they should just take the float and slowly destroy it in plain view of thousands of guest, then they can replace it with a cheaper less creative float. I'm not bitter about horizons.

Wow, that was the best analogy ever! That, coupled with a picture of at least one cat, makes this the best thread ever! :ROFLOL::ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

A couple of points:

* I was amazed that when it came time to move the offending float piece, they merely got enough cast members and lifted the thing. it Here in the States, a study would be made, a crane bought in, the street would be closed for hours, and a truck to move the article would make its way to the location.

* I am embarrased by the first replies that apparently did not know the difference between Japan and China.

* The young cast member who comforted the child in the YouTube video was incredibly cute.

Reread the posts. We were just joking that the parts may have been made in China. I'm embarrassed that some people can't read or recognize a joke when they see it.

I think YOU need to go reread the posts.... I am sure he was referring to Dingle.... When a member here made the joke about the crowd yelling "Godzilla..." Dingle came in and said Godzilla lived in Japan, not China.... Which, to me, makes me believe Dingle thinks TDL is in China..... I am embarassed for Dingle if this is the case...

If he meant Dingle then my bad, but he said first couple of replies and Dingle was number 8 not 2 and 3.

OK, I reread the posts. I know they were meant to be funny, but this kind of joke is only funny if it contains an element of the truth. Maybe I would not be a good judge of this, because I know how wonderfully talented the artisians who built TDL are, so I could only assume the comment 'made in China' was made from ignorance as to the location of the park. I did not intend to flame anybody, but too many Americans have little knowledge of the geography outside their communities and I often hear the whole orient clumped together: example overheard in Epcot, "Why is there a China and a Japan? Aren't they the same?" So I assumed the worst, maybe a little overly sensitive to the issue, and am sorry if it offended anybody.
