Hey you guys. It's going to be awhile before we go, but do you guys know where the parade starts? I know they say it will start at 3 the day we go, but at that time I would like to get out of the park asap (after the parade of course). Mainly because my little ones would need a nap by then.

If you're looking to exit quickly after the parade I would claim a spot early behind the train station or by Tony's or City Hall. Then you won't have to follow the parade alllll the way out because you'll be right by the exit!

Thank you, and perfect. We have lunch at CRT around 1:15 and hopefully we should be done around 2 just in time for it =D
No problem! We watched from Frontierland last year and BOOKED IT right after the last float passed because we had to be back for Magical Express at 4! We made it, barely. ;)

If you watch the parade from where it starts, then you might have a hard time getting to the park exit quickly because the parade will still be going strong and it will be super crowded. And if you watch it from a spot close to the exit (like Town square), then you'll have to wait for the parade to get to you, and by then it will be way past 3. In both cases, you might not be gone around the time you actually have in mind and may have to delay or skip naptime (don't forget you'll still have to get back to your hotel, so it may be tricky to have naptime at the time your kids are used to taking it).

You could always go to the park as early that day and then have dinner there and stay all night. Or take an earlier rest and go to the park around the parade time and leave for dinner for another short rest. Just a few suggestions...you'll be glad you planned it out!

Your lunch plans make what I'm about to suggest tricky, but...

On one occasion a several years ago (not FoF, but whatever parade they were doing back then), we saw the parade as it passed by in the breezeway between Adventureland and Frontierland (the one that's near Sunshine Tree Terrace). Once it had passed by, we moved quickly through Adventureland toward the entrance and caught it again near the train station. Of course, the park wasn't very crowded that day and there was no hub construction, so it was pretty easy to get from Adventureland to the front of the park before the parade came through. Just something you might try if you're daring enough.

Isn't the parade always at 3?

yes but maybe on the 2nd day they don't have a lunch reservation...that's my guess anyway and then they could go back earlier for the naps. (?? just a guess). Personally, I think if they wait til after the parade they will have a hard time getting in a good nap. My girls would have fallen asleep on the bus and then wake up when we arrived at the resort....lol.

you are right...the 2nd day we go to MK we won't have any reservation going now. My husband wants to do it on the last day (the day we check out). I don't think it's a good idea but we still have until june to sort it out.

that might be a little much for us. I really hope for us to be there at rope drop, and so I'm sure that after lunch they'll be super tired. I'm really thinking about skipping the parade and leaving it for the following day.

Check the weather!! You don't want to make all these plans then it be a rainy day and they don't perform FoF. This happened to us in May...it rained alllll day when we originally planned to go so we switched to DHS and saw the parade a couple days later. We sacrificed a few hours in Epcot for it, but it was worth it. While you're there in June, it is likely it will rain daily around 4pm-5pm...but look between your two days and see which has more favorable weather for you.

Thank you for the heads up. We will definitely be doing that.

I was able to watch the Festival of Fantasy parade from dead center at the train station this past year. Before the last float even made it through the circle, it was a massive swarm of humanity hitting the exits. Is it possible that you could see the parade on a different day?

What happens, and like I said, from my position at the train station on the deck, as the end of the parade is coming down Main St. (which is really like 3:45 or so as the parade STARTS at 3 at another area of the park) all the people who are doing exactly what you want to do are following the banner carriers at the end and it turns into a huge mob scene at the exits. I checked to see if I had a good picture of this, but unfortunately I don't. But yeah, if you're at the train station, the parade will be ending closer to 4 than starting at 3. So I hope that helps.
