Pandora: The World Of Avatar - A Somewhat Letdown?

I've seen day/night photos of the land, and they look every bit as immersive as the rest of AK, which I believe has the best detailing of any Disney park I've visited (CA, FL, and Paris). And I've seen POV videos of the rides -- they look great. Both of them.

I hear that the food in the Canteen is very good.

I'm looking forward to visiting one of these days -- after they finish the rehab at DHS. But I remain disappointed that there isn't more to the "land" than two rides and a restaurant. My land(s) of comparison: Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Future World and World Showcase... even Adventureland has JC, PotC, the Treehouse and the Aladdin spinner (and the Tiki Room, but it's a show).

Sadly, the same formula seems apparent in the announced plans for Star Wars Land...

I like your post, but the comparison of Pandora to most of those lands isn't a fair one in either direction.
Most of those lands jumble together multiple Disney properties, and aren't designed to be a immersively themed.
As wondeful as they are, they mostly facades.

Lol, yeah let's brush right past this little detail and get on to why the best simulator attraction ever secretly sucks.

Are you kidding me? You know banshees aren't real right? As in, they're fictional creatures?

Haunted Mansion advertised that you would see ghosts but all I saw were stupid mirror tricks. Animal Kingdom Lodge said I'd be staying on an African game preserve but I was totally just in a hotel in Orlando! Test Track said that I'd abandon my physical form and enter a digital testing simulator, but I totally maintained my corporeal mass. RAAAAAAAAGE.

This might legitimately be the worst OP of all time but you're only 15 so I'll give you a break. ;)

I visited Pandora on 5/26 (soft open? it was open until 3pm). We walked right in and explored a bit before my husband and older boy got in line for Flight of Passage. We got a rider switch pass and I waited in line with my younger boy ( who is 2, almost 3) for the river ride.

The wait for both rides was about an hour. My 2 year old was absolutely enthralled by the River Journey - very gorgeous and the animatronics were great. My husband and 5 year old were off of Flight of Passage by the time I was out of the river ride, so I hopped into fast pass with my 5 year old and I was on that in less than 10 minutes. Absolutely stunning ride, I was blown away which isn't easily done.

The area itself is pretty mind-blowing. I'm not a huge fan of Avatar, but the entire atmosphere is amazing, and the attention to detail definitely didn't go unnoticed. I was so happy that we decided to start our last day in Animal Kingdom, because I had NO idea that Pandora was going to be open to the public a day before grand opening.

Was it worth spending an entire day waiting around in lines for? Ehh.. I can't spend that long in lines to begin with, and would've gone to another section of the park in lieu of experiencing Pandora if I had to wait hours to even enter that section of the park. It's definitely worth a visit though, and I don't think that it's overhyped. I've never seen anything like it, and I can't wait to go back to explore a bit more.
