Pandora opening date prediction

I wonder why they are behind schedule but would venture a guess that besides this being an ambitious project never attempted on this scale before; after the two rides things still seem to be in flux as to what the movie will entail. Plus the sequels are behind schedule and who knows what Cameron wants to/has changed

If they are truly 8 months behind schedule, that would be consistent with WDW1974's indication that it would be opening in late 2017, just before the holiday rush. He has said that sometime in the last few weeks, so he might be getting similar information as Hill.

Both Tom Staggs and Bruce Vaughn always have said early 2017

Early 2017 sincerely could mean (in TDO speak) anything from January 1st to June 14th. Technically, all of that is early 2017 since it's less than half-way through the year. But January and June are miles apart.

Same with how Spring is used for March-June openings.

May 2017 makes far more sense as the planned grand opening than January-February 2017.

So late 2017-early 2018 as the new date sounds likely. I'm expecting March-June 2018 as the eventual grand opening. a year after the date that was announced :(

Just listened to Jim hill's podcast and he says they are 8 months behind schedule!

Which podcast did you listen to?

April 22, 2017 - 19th anniversary of the park.

April 22, 2018 - 20th anniversary of the park.

Surely to big an opportunity for them to miss. They could then synergise with the movie release by having a teaser before the movie starts.
Is the land slated to contain anything from the sequels? I can't imagine Cameron would want any spoilers or reveals in the land months before the movie hits the big screen.

As far as I know, this will open well before the movie. And isn't 8 months behind. I popped this in another thread, but the Jim Hill junk is a lot of mumbo jumbo. Construction isn't perfectly on track, but it's not that far behind. And Cameron isn't stomping all over AK crying about banshees and what he wants done. The plans are cemented, things are moving/built in both FL and CA.

California? Do you mean at WDI? Because there's no Pandora stuff being built for Disneyland in Anaheim.
